dont worry… 3-4 weeks…

We are making progress with the FM.
Early test flights performing high alpha are at least stable now. One flight flown @25 degrees 110kts the second @30 degrees 115-120kts. Based on what I’ve read I should be stable at 30 degrees 90kts so not there yet.
Work continues…

Read ALL you want, you wouldn’t be stable if you had a broom stick stuck up your posterior to prop you up!!!:p:D

Looks great, but what about avionics ? will it use F-16 systems, radar etc… ?? Is there any plans to make them accurate ?

So this is where the “boys” are hanging it out ???

mower or me, your choice!!!

Just a quick question. Is Mid Air re-fueling being done for the Bug? The refueling boom is different than the standard Falcon fueling port. Would a different Tanker be made? (forgive me if this is a non issue I have not been here long)

Bloody Hell.

Bonedust, when you guys get a reasonable release candidate for your F/A-18 package, will the a/c be plug and play for the present campaign? I mean that if a campaign has an F/A-18A/C unit slotted, you new models/skin etc will fit there without modification?

The work is being done by the BMS team.
The new F18 will be part of the BMS install, so yes to your question.

Bonedust, just a little thought on your low speed / high alpha tests: the hornet should be able to fly at 90 Knots, but I believe that’s in a clean configuration. In the video you have a load of AA missiles, that weight should add a few knots.
For reference: I have the VRS Super hornet for FSX (the FM is said to be very close to the real thing), provided it’s a bigger aircraft, I can do a high alpha pass at around 105 knots with 6000 lb of fuel and no stores. At this speed I don’t need to keep pulling on the stick, the FCS maintains AoA even with the stick centered. If I pull the stick all the way back I get 90 Knots or even a bit less, at 35 to 40 deg. AoA -
FM is WIP, but currently with a clean jet you can fly 35 AoA at 90kts.
The speed in the video was 105-110kts. All the data and information I have to date indicates that the pilot must pull back on the stick to maintain; the current AFM for the bug requires the same.
-
AOA is upside down and colors are backwards! Arrows poin ti wrong direction and Red means FAST!

AOA indexer
I noticed in the sim (current) the FA18 AOA indexer does notlight up, and in the vid on the update it is working, but to my knowledge it is notcorrectly.
In the F 16 the top arrow ins red pointing down, donutgreen, and up arrow green, which I think is correct of USAF.
The fA18 indexer is top arrow down green, donut orange andbottom arrow up and red.Pop feel free to comment on the topic page to keep all information in one place and handy.
Have you got any pic’s?
Cheers

Yes our arrows are upside down, not sure about the colours though
EDIT
Looks like you might be right mate. Good spot
