MFD extraction - what is the best way to do this in 4.34?
-
Hello Gentlemen,
I just received a pair of Cougar MFD’s and two 8’’ monitors which I have connected to my HDMI port.
I have no knowledge of how to extract displays and wonder if you can give me good advice on how to get the MFDs displayed on my two 8" monitors?
Many thanks for your help in advance!
Mathias

Where did you find 8" inch monitors? Are they flat screens?

Extend your desktop to include the two extra monitors, the use Cockpit Display Extraction or RTTRemote to draw the MFD output onto the extended desktop. The BMS Technical Manual, section 5, explains it better than I can in a forum post.

I personally use YAME64 for extracting MFD (without bezel) in 4.34 onto 10’’ HDMI Touchscreen panels. For the input bezel I’m using Helios instead of Cougar MFD bezels. The extraction with YAME runs super stable and smooth without any noticeable FPS drop

I purchased the monitors on Amazon. Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FHDL1DE/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_sIp7DbW44154E

Thanks for the information oakdesign! Will YAME64 work if I have my two 8” monitors connected to the same GPU as my main monitor?

Yes it will. I have currently 2 10 inch touchscreen displays and 1 27 inch connected to my 1660ti and another 2 10 inch tablets through USB with duet display software

Can you hook up 2 extra monitors to a PC with only 1 HDMI output?

Best would always to have a GPU with multi monitor support
Alternative would be a display splitter such as a matrix triple head
https://matrox.com/graphics/de/products/gxm/th2go/digital_se/
other solutions would be to use USB Displays or Tablets connected through USB with a Display extending software -
That one must be engraved with Gold. LOL. Would this one work?
edit> I’m stuck with ONE HDMI output…

At work we use either Matrox Tripleheads or Dell and HP Docking Stations for Multi Display setups. Never tested other Display Splitters so far.
On my BMS machine I have 1 HDMI and 3 DP with DP to HDMI AdapterGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

Good question, right now I have the two extra monitors connected to the HDMI output and the main monitor is connected to the DisplayPort. My PC detects the two extra monitors as one, and I dont know if there is a solution for detecting them as two separate monitors. Any help would be highly appreciated.

That sounds way more to be a driver issue or sustem setup issue. Could you give more information on your system. Which GFX Card, Drver Version, OS etc

oakdesign, I am running Windows 10, 32GB RAM, i7-8700K 3.7GHz, RTX 2070, LG 1440p 32" monitor

Also, I connect the two monitors with the following HDMI splitter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XCZC6SP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I realised that the splitter just mirrors the same screen on both monitors. Hence, the system only detects one extra monitor.
Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? What adaptor should I consider? Many thanks in advance!

So you have an RTX 2070 with 1 DP 1 HDMI and 1 DVI Connetctor? If so why not connecting one of the MFD Screens to HDMI and the Second with an DVI to HDMI Adapter to the DVI Port and the Main Screen to DP

Thanks for the suggestion!
My RTX 2070 only have 1 DP and 1 HDMI, no DVI connector. I just realized that my motherboard Asus ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING has an HDMI and DVI. I tried to connect the third monitor to the HDMI on the motherboard, but I received “No signal”. I restarted the PC and then voilá, it worked!!!
Thanks a lot for your help!

Ok now I got you. You might use the integrated GPU from your I7-8700K alongside your RTX 2070. In order to use both GPU you have to enable GPU Graphics Multi Monitor in BIOS see
