Blackduke your kind words make me very happy. If you have any problems or requests please feel free to ask here.
My profiles are both start in flight and if anyone wants a runway or ramp version please ask and I will do my best to oblige.

I just started playing around with Helios and downloaded your Helios profile to take a look at it. If you don’t mind I have a couple of general questions?
1. Why would you need a different profile for a ground start vs an in flight start?
2. What are the reasons to use YAME? Or maybe a better question is what does the YAME/Helios combination give you that either one doesn’t?
Oh and your post #1 gives a couple of big warnings to go see a couple of posts but they are inconvenient to track down. So I am leaving the links here in case you want to update post #1. Thanks for giving to the community, I much appreciate it and I am going to have a ton of fun rummaging through your Helios drawers.

#2 Yame64 is to extract Sharedmem tex such as the MFD which helios doesn’t. Basically YAME is for getting Gauges from BMS. It has input features but limited compared to Helios

Thanks Vandal very good suggestion, I have added links to first post.
oakdesign as answered re differences between helios and YAME.
The reason for different profiles for Ramp/Runway and in flight is quite simply the starting position of the switches in the cockpit. for example I think the change to a Runway profile from a flight one would only be the position of the landing gear lever. To alter flight to ramp will involve also quite a lot of switches starting in the off position as well as the landing gear lever.
Hope this makes sense and thankyou for your amendment to my first post.

I have just noticed an error in my profile “earlier F16s” which affected the M4 CODE switch on the AUX COM panel. The problem is caused by what I believe to be a BUG in the BMS program and I have reported it. Meanwhile I have added a workaround in my profile and uploaded the corrected one to Media Fire. Anyone who as downloaded the original ie prior to 0900 on 26/02/20 should download again and replace it.
While on the subject of this particular switch (M4 CODE) I think I should point out that because in the simulator it needs to be pressed for > 2secs , in helios it could not be a “swipe” switch like all the other toggles. To allow a longer press it as been made a “touch” switch.
I am adding a note to the two images where these switches appear (earlier F16 AUX COM and later F16 IFF panels) to act as a reminder and will be uploading an amended weepopFULL zip shortly. For those who have already downloaded the original and feel they would like this aid to memory but do not want to download the zip again I will upload the new images with instructions on how to replace them.
weepopEDIT:- Done above 1000 26/02/20 those seeking new images to avoid big download see helios/new panel images folder.

Hi Weepop
Big thanks and thumbs up for your profile which I put to good use to implement the IFF panel. I see however you are using callbacks like SimIFFBackupM1Digit1_0 etc. I don’t find these callbacks in the original 4.34 full key file. Are they recognised by BMS 4.34?
Again, tnx for your work.

Hi Bikeman
thats a definate yes , see page 20 in the dash1 manual -
Hi Weepop
My bad! Isn’t it amazing how much one can learn just by reading the manuals I am running a version of Waichou’s profile on which I have made some adaptations to make it work for me. Of course I did not document the changes since I was sure I would remember them all (/irony:off). At the moment I am getting the IFF panel to work using your profile as example.
I figured out how to enter Lua scripts but I don’t know where the “trigger values” and “actions values” come from. Any idea?
Regards

Hi Bikeman
are you using LUA scripting on the input to the hidden rotaries?
From what I recall the trigger value is always “Boolean Always returns true” and the Action appears automatically and is dependent on your starting point for the rotary. EG 1=0 …to …8=7 for a rotary with 8 steps starting from 0 or 1=2… to… 8=1 if it starts with a digit 2 showing. It can be a bit of a problem , I always make the rotaries visible when I am trying to get it right.
Hope this helps
best of luck weepop -
Thanks, I’ll keep trying.

Hello Weepop,
I just saw your post on GitHub,
I prefer to continue here to avoid polluting the bug report.
For the first question on the terms “& 1t” or “& gt”, this is the way for HELIOS to write in the file the signs “>” and “<”.For the second question, I did not change the code for the label.
It must be replaced by the same as the rotary. The easiest way is to open the .hpf file with the editor and copy and paste.
Sorry for my English I go through google translation.
-
Thanks ertiyu I agree ,much better to carry on here. I had not noticed that was the way helios wrote < and > in the profiles, Isee it now.
I do not understand your reply about restricting the range of the “labels”
Can you possibly give me an example of how to have a limit of 0 to 9 on a rotary.
BTW I bet your English is a lot better than my French !!
-
I thought you were talking about the display going negative.
Here’s what to change the code for the rotary by :
if TriggerValue==1 then if toto <9 then toto = toto+1 else toto=1 end elseif TriggerValue==3 then if toto >1 then toto = toto-1 else toto=9 end end return toto
For my English you have to say thank you to Google:p
A test File :
-
Thanks for that ertiyu it is exactly what I want but when I try to apply it in my profile the rotary does not move !!!
Why do you call the rotary “toto”, I have tried using that name and also using “rotary” but I still get no movement !!! -
Did you test the profile as an attachment?
Check carefully that there is no error in writing the lua code.
In the test profile the rotary works perfectly, it turns up to 9 and then back to 1 or back.
The code does not work in a single button.
It is written for a 3 see switch. You have to use a 3-way button. For example the “Plus Minus - Dark” present in “Rockers”
You need the latest version of HELIOS
I put “toto” to show that the name of the variable is not important.
She could have been called “tata”:D -
Yes I tested the profile attached and agree it works perfectly, it is exactly what I need.
Yes I am trying with a three way switch.
Yes I am using 1.4.2020.0308
Still do not know why it does not work.
I will double check everything and try again.
-
Unfortunately there I do not know why does not work.
Possibility to have the .hpf file to see my side?
-
Bonjour ertiyu
Merci pour votre aide….OK thats the limit of my schoolboy french, it has been 65 years since then.
I have redone the Lua script and it now works
I could not see anything wrong with the first attempt but it must have been a typo…
Thanks again , I will now try to apply it to my backup tacan, backup IFF and my radio controls

Glad to have been able to help you progress on Helios.

SEE NEW POST WEEPOPS UPDATED
Warnings removed from first post because I do not think bindings are lost when resetting monitors in latest helios.
And no clash with waichou now because I have renamed my image folder.
