Current IADS
-
I know some say that the RP5 isn’t implemented in BMS but in a sense it is because of the fact that the enemy can vector fighters against you. Here is what I’ve gathered so far, and just destroying dedicated sites isn’t enough, more has to be done to destroy the IADS. I know when I say IADS a true one doesn’t truly exist but enough of it to where enemy GCI/EW can vector fighters against Allied Forces. This may seem like I’m beating a dead horse on the subject but what I find, I feel obligated to share with the community.
After reading the RP5 manual, ALL and it stresses ALL EWR/GCI radars are part of the IADS that vectors enemy fighters on your or any other flights position. So if there is a radar at an enemy airbase, KILL IT because it’s going against you and vectoring fighters on your position as you fly if you’re detected. I flew a mission with the IADS intact and stayed low and only Mig-21’s were intercepted on my position. Because I was flying low, the radar coverage (blue on 2D map) is what I flew into and that’s how it happened. Once I escaped the space, they were vulnerable and couldn’t find me and I had the advantage due to my own avionics. Once destroyed, flying into these blue zones (depot, airbase, army base, and dedicated stations) nothing was vectored and my flight was NOT intercepted. It’s going to take 2-5 days if flying steadily to dismantle (destroy every single EW radar) this IADS so the enemy cannot rule over you, but rather you rule over them. Once accomplished, you localize enemy engagements to local spots such as enemy BARCAP zones or patrol routes as well as fly at higher altitudes without being molested like an altar boy at a catholic school.
As far as this goes, the campaign engine cannot grasp this so if you frag a SEAD, DEAD packages you will get a poor rating because the engine will assume that you’re protecting other flights in the area and search radars will not count as “Loss to enemy air defense” as the debriefing would say afterward. Air Interdiction won’t even count because it has to be a vehicle to be destroyed in order for you to get an excellent mission rating. If you get good/excellent mission ratings, the better the AI will do at air combat/ground combat against the enemy. The only way to do this and keep it up is to frag BARCAP’s and reduce the patrol time to a few seconds, have some HARMs and then patrol for a few seconds, then once patrol time is fulfilled, go rouge and kill the radars and your mission rating will be excellent because of hi-jacking the task of the mission fragged. Destroying the enemy IADS will take awhile and be very very very repetitive, but the good thing about is that you can frag AI flights to dedicated places such as army, depot, airbase, and stations and have them target the radars at these places to help reduce the work load.
These Blue Zones also transition to High Altitude from Low Altitude.

Nice work, I always suspected as much but it’s nice to hear someone confirm it. Great post.

EDIT: Nevermind…had to read your post a couple times to comprehend. The BARCAP hijacking is a proven method indeed.
Also, you can frag OCA Strikes against locations that have EW radars (airbases, depots, army bases, etc.) and as long as someone takes out the primary target while you take out the radar, you should still get a good or excellent rating. As for leftover EW sites within SAM battalions that have the tracking/missile radar already destroyed, DEAD is definitely the mission you want. SDBs are brilliant for picking off the EW radar and any leftover launchers/AAA, etc. I just performed this very task against a SA-3 site that had the Low Blow previously destroyed and got an excellent rating for taking out the Flat Face, three launchers, and a few support vehicles with SDBs.

RP5 is fully included in BMS
But in reality
Rp5 was much more a manual actually than real code , I’d say RP5 can be qualified as a good marketing
Many things were placebo
Many things were removed since totally bugged or incorrectly implementedIf you install back RP5 you would be so disappointed ! In reality we , players have also evolved very much in 15 years and what we were able to accept or see 15 years ago and now is totally different
Take the flak for instance , RP5 has a great chapter about it explaining the fire enveloppe , etc etc….but the implementation was very basics and totally unrealistic as it has been noticed by the community now. Therefore we had to rewrite it

Air Interdiction works very well to obtain a success against ground vehicles.

Very nice, I had my suspicion that it was there but wasn’t sure until you said something. Your team rewriting things and making better progress and implementing them than the bugged version just makes it all the more better. Thanks again guys.
