F16 cockpit lights mode
-
This is a small mod that changes the default green panel lighting to a white/yellowish colour.
I’ve been using it for a few years and thought I’d give it to those who prefer the old school lighting. There is also an “optional” mod for the pilot’s breaths that removes the mechanical sound.
It is a one click installer.

Look amazing dude!!! Great work

Wow, beautiful! Thanks!

I should mention the flood lighting is still green.
I’ll look at changing that later.

Man, thanks …finally men-light again.
erm… http://www.leadpursuit.ca ???

Look amazing dude!!! Great work
DownloadingThanks but there’s nothing amazing about it. Its a very simple thing to change the light colours
Amazing would be my wife putting my friggin screw drivers back in my tool box after she uses them, or not throwing out my old university sweat shirt because it has a small hole in it, or tearing up nude pictures of my old girl friend.
Hmmm, ok. I’ll give her the last one

Yeah the green lighting is for NVIS work. Your mod brings it back to original pre NVIS configuration on interior lighting.
-
Installed and really like it. Are the channel display on the backup UHF panel and the “Pneu” flag on the altimeter also supposed to be white?
-
Too much bright Bonedust! Very not good for night flying…
Since there is no dim function (hope that will be implemented one day) … I highly recommend to reduce (a lot) brightness intensity.
PS: Is there an un-install feature ?
(if you add an un-install feature … please use the D:\Falcon BMS 4.32*Add-on backups\CockPit Lights Mod* folder structure (like for Harpoon’s Hud.)
-
Yeah it is a little bit too bright. DJ: I think you can uninstall the mod like you uninstall any other program in windows from the control panel. There’s also an exe in the BMS root folder.
-
BD, similar mod with this? :

Looks like it is the same yes, with a small variation to the color.

@BD, no not quite. The Mod where Copper is working on, is a per instrument /gauge utilization of variations of light, being white for some and being greenish for some others.
@DJ, also the brightness issue is looked at by Copper
ATM he had a few days setback because of RL-issues that came up, but I’m sure he’ll finish his work. If I may advise: if you’d like additional details included on lighting of panels, pass them on to him. I’m sure he’ll handle them well.

I thought he was asking if it was similar in terms of modding; which it is.
Its an easy thing to mod, so no I don’t need any additional details, and will more than likely not do any additional work on this. It is something I’ve been using long before BMS was public and thought others may prefer it over the green.
Brightness issue? When using NVGs? I have a mod for that if anyone wants it. Again, a very quick and simple change.

Great work BD - love it - Brightness issue? When using NVGs? I like to have the mod.

No no … even without NVG’s.
The cockpit lighting exist to allow instrument and button to be readable, but brightness must be the strict minimum possible to make it readable in order to not disturb night vision. (You know what I’m talking about BD )

Boner could you make your installer mod other theatres as well?
-
Hi Mower,
just copy the files 8004.dds and 8005.dds form the Korea theater ( data/Korea/terrdata/object/KoreaObj )where you made your first install with the installer from Boner, and put it in to
the data/Add-On Aegean/terrdata/object/KoreaObj –-- data/Add-On Balkan/terrdata/object/KoreaObj - data/Add-On Israel/terrdata/object/KoreaObj
do the same with all theaters you have - the sound files put in the sound files of each theater - that´s it…

Very nice. Man, I really appreciate all the work people put into Falcon. Thanks!
