Thrustmaster T.16000M + TWCS Keyfile

Do you ever find trim gets stuck when using it as a shifted state. This used to happen to me in 4.33 a lot… Don’t know if 4.34 it works better with shifted states.
In 4.33 if you didn’t “unshift” in the correct order then the trim would be stuck “running” to maximum, which got pretty funky.
I haven’t noticed it recently, but I think this is still the case. When I first created the .key file, I had miscalculated the shifted DX numbers, so the pinky shift mapping came on when the button was pressed, but didn’t come off. As a result the shifted layer got stuck on.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. After loading the BMS-BasicDX TM Warthog.key and pasting it into user/config file, loading the keyfile, I am unable to takeoff. Either my stick works or my thrust works depending on what is selected in the drop down in Setup. After selecting advanced, I’ve set Flight Control Throttle Axis to Warthog Throttle, Pitch Axis to Joy Y, and Roll Axis to Joy X. Both inputs in advanced DO respond to my inputs, but once I back out to the setup page, the x/y axis thrust only works if the thrust is selected in the drop down, at which point I get no stick movement and vice versa.
I see the same behaviour - electing a different controller in the drop down removes the axis mappings for my throttle.
Re-map your axes in Advanced, then don’t touch that dropdown - the pitch/roll and thrust axis should all respond as you’d expect.

Hello Orffen,
Thank you for your very useful profile.
I have a problem with the shift. If I use the key.file with the trim unshifted, I can’t get the TMS and with the TMS unshifted, I can’t get the Trim function.
The unshifted function work well.Thank you for your help.
-
To use the shifted functions, you need to hold down the pinky switch button. It’s the far left button on the TWCS throttle, next to the rotary dial.
-
Thank you for your quick answer.
I holded down the pinky switch , the TMS function is always stuck TMS Down; the trim function works well .

RaffutThis will happen if you let go of the TMS before you let go of the pinky switch. Unfortunately not much can be done to fix that except slowing down your inputs.

Thank you.

Sorry for coming late to the game, but which key file is newer? TRIM or no TRIM? And coming from recently trying the Target approach, do I need to undo anything related to DeviceSorting.txt? Is that file still required, or can it be deleted? Thanks!

They’re both the same version, just with those mappings swapped - use whichever you prefer.
My DeviceSorting.txt has the T.16000M first:
{B10A044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "T.16000M" {B687044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "TWCS Throttle"

Hey Orffen, nice job!
Didn’t know about that new POV hat override functionality until i read your post.
Now there’s even less reason to use the odd TARGET.
I’ll probably still use it to get two more buttons from the frontal rudder rocker in my setup.
But yours has given me some reason to overthink my setup and adapt it.
I’d definitively recommend yours for T.16000M/FCWS beginners.PS: If i’m not mistaken, i noted a small mistake in labeling:
COMMS Left is actually IFF OUT and COMMS Right is IFF IN? -

Yeah, works! It’s Shareware though, not free.

I’ve been using it for a long time for free.
Funny you say that as I just donated to the developer last week!

You’re right - I had those backwards. Have fixed in the zip file

My hopes are on you for a 4.35 compatible version

My hopes are on you for a 4.35 compatible version
Unfortunately, I’m out of my office at the moment until mid-January, so no HOTAS to be able to test this until then.
Edit 2: after writing the below realised that of course there are new key files for BMS 4.35; Zip has been updated!
Does the .key file not load in 4.35? The release notes and New Keyfile Functions.txt don’t show anything removed/changed that previously existed, so I think you should be able to load the .key file, setup your axes and get in the air
Edit: I just had a quick look at the technical manual and doesn’t look like anything has changed for the config file values for multiple devices either. Don’t forget to add those config file entries. Let me know if you’re seeing issues importing the .key file; I can re-do them off the base 4.35 .key files if needed.
-
Version 8 updates:
- Added Falcon BMS 4.35 .key files and moved BMS 4.34 to another folder in the zip file
- Don’t forget the config file changes for both 4.35 and 4.34.1+!
-
Version 9 updates:
- Updated keybindings for Falcon BMS 4.35.1

Just wanted to thank you Orffen for putting this together.
T.16000M Flight Pack just been delivered so will try the install/setup from your first post tonight. Can I still launch using the alternative launcher after using the keyfile/config changes from your post or do I need to go in using the original .exe?
