Central Europe Theater

Growing up in Europe during the Cold War, this would definitely be my all time fav theater! I can’t wait to fly F-16s out of Hahn and Ramstein!
-
Agree, and on my little own I’d like to start from Aviano, or the other AMI bases in the nearby.
With best regards.

during a recent exercise, some locals in the neighbouring town of Bielefeld (yes, it does exist :)) complained about the “incessant jetplane noise” when two Typhoons flew a couple of turns over the city.
Leaves me wondering how these folks survived the 80s when dozens of RAF, US and German fighters went over the countryside at 300 feet or less
All the best,
Uwe

This theater is where those US planes and arsenal were designed for.

Hahn had or has F-16`s? I landed there once but there was so much fog that you couldn’t even see the terminal or the tower.

“Had”…Hahn is not an active AB anymore.
In the end Cold war times, the USAF was operating from the following bases in Germany:
Ahlhorn
Bitburg
Giebelstadt
Hahn
Ramstein
Rhein-Main
Sembach
Spangdahlem
Wiesbaden
Zweibrücken (shared partially with the Canadians at some time)plus a dozen of airfields for the army and Forward Operating airfields.

I miss those days where F-4 and F-104 flew low and loud over bavaria / franconia. :sad2:
Cheers, :yo:

Part of my childhood was in Germany near Frankfurt, Darmstadt to be more precise. I remember when we used to go to Trier and i could see the Spang F-16’s fly over trier and over the romain terms ruins. Also, my dad used to take me to Bitburg Airbase to look around. Bitburg was long deactivated but the buildings and the hangars remain and Walsall IG around in the airbase I could get a feel of the Cold War atmosphere, at some point it was even scary. CET theater is something I really look forward to because Central Europe is part of my childhood.

Brilliant! :bdance:
I was stationed at Bruggen in W.Germany in the early 90s on Tornado, loved it, and the country…

6 months in to BMS, haven’t played falcon since open/free falcon days and love it… while I still enjoy aspects of the “other sim” I can’t seem to get back into it. I installed 4.33 to play Baltic Andy jaw drops at how detailed this theater is… truly a benchmark as to how beautiful BMS can look. I won’t ask stupid questions about when it’s available for 4.34 or why new theaters aren’t implementing this detail… still love Korea, Israel and balklands. But I can’t believe how great Baltic is, not only visually but just fighting in Europe is great.

Welp!!! I’m an idiot lol. And this is for Central Europe not Baltic… noob error.
and what do you think of v4.35?

This video has so many technical errors which is hardly can be counted.
Nonexistent units in that time and 100% silly approach like the “relocating industry behind the Ural”.
Bro, this is not WWII. In the age of ICBMs this has no sense… -
And the future, and war especially , are totally unpredictable .
But uchronic scenariis are always interesting . Just take them for what they are : unverifiable tales .

Anyway it goes, I won’t ever say here anything now seeming I’m criticising who decided to make and release one day a chlallenging theater like that.
With best regards.

I can’t wait for this theater to be beta-ready Growing up in northern Europe during the Cold War, this theater would be just awesome!
I do agree with Molni, that posted video is rather rubbish. Nevertheless, it would be extremely interesting to see how a campaign would develop here
