Question about STRF HUD mode
-
Hi all,
I have recently started Falcon BMS and I’m working through navigation and landings. A couple of times I have clicked something inadvertently and placed the HUD in STRF (strafe?) mode, and I can’t seem to get out of it. I have found nothing in the manuals, and HUD mode isn’t controlled from the HUD, it just has various systems which interface with it under different conditions. Since I haven’t got to avionics I’m not familiar with weapons, weapon modes and such. Can anyone help or point me to where I can find more info on it?
Thanks

The only way I know how to do this is by being in A-G master mode and selecting the strafe setting. Try clicking the A-G button on the UFC and the HUD should go back into NAV mode.
Have a look at the -1 page 87. Also the -34 pages 80 and 85.

Thanks I see where you are referring to in the -1. What is the -34? I will try A-G button when it happens again, but its strange that I can’t find the word “STRF” in the -1.

The -34 is the “TO-BMS1F-16CM-34-1-1” pdf, which contains info specifically on avionics and weapon utilization.
“STRF” isn’t explicitly written anywhere in the -1, but if you search for “strafe” you can find a couple of useful references.
In any case, there’s two ways to exit strafe mode:
-Press OSB 1;
-Long press Cursor Enable (this possibility is easy to miss, in the manual).Cheers

You’re correct. Long press UNCAGE.
