Sweet! Tell me that doesn’t just scream “Sky-Samurai”… I notice similar tail-art (3d Vic) to the bare metal DJ skin, does that specify a particular squadron or role?

Thank you buddies !

The V, as you decribes it, means the 5th Air Wing of JASDF, located in Nyutabaru airbase (the closest JASDF Fighter Wing from KTO).
You will also notice, that some have a yellow relief, and some have a red one.
Red background V are aircraft from the 202th Figther Squadron of Nyutabaru
Blue background V are aircraft from the 204th Figther Squadron of Nyutabaru
Thanks to Nabe-san great webpage and pictures !!! For all of those who like Legacy JASDF, this is the place to go !
Cheers,
Radium
The tail marking of the 202nd Sqdn was a stylized Roman numeral “V” (five) meaning the "5"th Air Wing. The sister squadron, the 204th, within the same 5th Air Wing also used the same tail marking, but it was “blue” shadowed in yellow. (Please see the photos at the bottom of this page) F-104J (#693) shown at the bottom carried a pair of J/ALQ-4 ECM pods under the wing. Please note that the front end of the ECM pod was painted in black. Also, the front portion of the wing pylon was painted in red.

Maybe the perspective, do the wings need more angle?

Yeah, it’s a matter of perspective. I just checked it, it is perfect !

Hi Radium/Topolo
Great pictures, thanks per sharing
RegardsPS, any chance to see a F104G Spanish Air Force skin sometime? We only operated a small fleet of 21 aircrafts during 7 years but fortunately it was losses free

@Screens = Kudos.
Simply Stunning…!
(Maybe enough to drag CrazyTom back to Falcon)
