We need a dedicated tower view for those that want to do ATC / GCI.
Pictures can be clicked on for full res.
Departure:
Tiger 31 (4SHIP) leaving Aviano to go and find a group of transport trucks, moving from the port to a plant assumed to be used to create chemical weapons.FAOR:
Tiger 31 and 32 get jumped by QRA. Soon after taking out the threat, another nearby base also launches a Scramble flight. -

Nice shots!
Question though: Why are you not enabling some kind of anti-aliasing? Your screens will have much smoother edges this way (It’ll cost some performance but assuming you have a mid-high system you can afford it probably)

Ah thanks for the advice, enable within Falcon 4? or within my Nvidia graphics?

cheers

FWIW, I keep AA at application controlled on the Nvidia panel and in BMS itself I enable Multi-Sampling x4. I personally find that better than forcing from Nvidia panel, but other people say the opposite so I guess it could be different for you. Anyway, try to play with the settings and you’ll find the balance, just your shots will look much better with high AA

Interesting mission. Took-off from Gioia Del Colle AB in Italy, went to the target area, searched for 2xSCUD launchers. Managed to get them before they entered the city that was protected by an SA-6 and other various SHORAD’s. The ennemy scrambled two MIG-29’s, we had to engage, one got shot down and the other one was out of gas and went home. On the way to the Tanker i experienced an engine flameout, managed to restart the engine, i got some gas and once off the boom again engine flameout, did another airstart as per -1 then i went direct home. I opted for an Overhead Approach in case my engine would quit on me one more time. When reaching low key, the engine quit again and i landed on EPU. I later found out that while i was in the air for some reason my Cougar throttle changed it’s idle cutoff threshold. Gave me a good workout.

Exactly!
As you can see, the edges of triangles are MUCH smoother (There are still edges, of course, but you hardly can see them due to Multi-sampling).
Next setting I use here (if you like :)) is:
In Nvidia panel force Anisotropic filtering (aka AF) to x16, that should help sharpen textures on relatively flat geometry (especially towards the distance). You can read about it here.Enjoy!

in campaign shots today, many thanks and AF set at x16…

Yes! And the good thing is, your 1080 isn’t even sweating a bit for that extra quality

Oh man that red crane can be hard to knock down. The first (several, at least) times I did that training mission I couldn’t destroy that thing for love or money. When I finally saw it all collapsed, it was like Santa had brought me a nice mangled red steel Christmas present. Never saw the “Your ad here” Viper poster!

Actually i read the training manual again and it is written that it is easier to hit the crane if you extract the exact coordinates of the crane. Now issue is that if you want to hit the crane spot on you need the coordinates when you are vertical the impact point. What I did is that i made a dry run, vertical the target i looked at my TGP and took the coordinates. You can either write them down on your knee pad or simply have the DED DEST page ready. Once the coordinates are typed in your system you can now extend and when you go TMS aft, cursor zero the TGP should now point directly at the crane. Now here is the thing with the crane, when extend for 15 nm before turning back in, the lower you are the flatter your angle of view to the crane will be, in your TGP you won’t immediately have the picture of the target from the top, it will look at the coordinates but it may look like you are pointing at the base of the crane.
I usually make a dry run when there are clouds around to be sure that when the bomb is gone I can lase and that the bomb will have good laser until impact.
One more thing, when dropping a GBU-54 you have better results, I used one GBU-54 with the laser mode. I put the auto lase in the DED to 1second, so that I don’t have early lasing that will screw my bomb. It allows me to exactly control when the laser should be fired and for how long. The training manual is a gold mine as are the other BMS manual. There are some very good techniques described in there and you can build your owns from it.
