4.35 MFD font impossible to read at 'normal' zoom levels.
-
I like the new fonts but the bullseye numbers from ownship and cursor position as well as the cursor elevation numbers need to be increased in size as per the 1st post in this thread. Right now it is impossible to read. In the first post it can clearly be seen that the real life size of mentioned numbers is larger. Also, on the TGP page the time-to-impact and laser code have merged to one big number.

Would you be able to take a screenshot of that? This is in a vanilla install?

Set it up the way unleashed code does in his vid here:
I think it was specifically the “anisotropic filtering” and “antialiasing - setting” settings that needed to be upped. This fixed the blurry text both in 2d and 3d
That’s so strange. For me and a lot of others, no matter what tweaks we make in Nvidia control settings, it has zero impact on 4.35 where it used to work on 4.34.
I wonder why some people are having this issue and other are not.
What Nvidia drivers are you running?
-
The thing that i want you to notice is that in my picture there is a mix of fonts from your pictures. I mean that every letter except the Bullseye is from 4.35 and the Bullseye font is fro 4.34.
One last image and i quit!!!
The third (last right) picture is mine and the other two are yours. Find the differences.
https://i.ibb.co/m6hbJpf/434l435t.pngCould you please give specific instructions as to how you achieved this? copying the old ‘smaller font d’ from .34 to .35 gives me different results!

Not sure on drivers - probably updated them ~1 month ago.
I started up 4.35, saw the tiny pathetic illegible font both in 2D and 3D.
I forgot I’d set 4.34 nvidia control panel settings per Unleashed Code’s, and when I remembered I went and did the same for 4.35- ONLY I ACCIDENTALLY CHOSE THE 4.35 LAUNCHER — instead of the actual 4.35 executable — and adjusted the graphics for that. You’re probably not making this mistake as I did- but it definitely made me scratch my head as to why the settings in game weren’t changing at first.

Try MFAA off.

Yes vanilla install. Not from myself but here also visible:
-
Unfortunately Nvidia control panel settings have no effect for myself and many other I fly with. I have confirmed that it’s the FalconBMS.exe and not the launcher being targeted by the Nvidia settings.

Frustrating. And changing the global settings doesn’t work either?
-
Try turning on image sharpening in Nvidia settings. I think that did the trick for me… No problems on my 27" 1080p screen.

Download this Rar file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DEVjlNI1Ez2iP6cTXZv1QbLWycI2_LMC/view?usp=sharing , decompress the two files in it and paste them in this directory (C:\Falcon BMS 4.35\Data\Art\CkptArt\3dFont)
At the end in the above directory things may look like this:
In the red box there are the two files that will change. Pay attention to the date of modification(green box). At the yellow boxes the date need to be as shown in order to have the mixed fonts.
Note that if you have an extra theatre except KOREA you need to replace Korea and the third theatre’s files(respective 4.34 theatre) in order to see properly the mixed font

Hi everyone. I have the same problem(and others) since I installed 4.35. The whole cockpit in general seems to have less detail compared to 4.34. Shooting missiles is unrealistic(kinda toy-like) and I checked the labels ad the fonts are unreadable. overall I think that there is a problem with graphic settings. I have the same settings as my 4.34(using Nvidia control panel) and I have set the settings as people in the community have suggested(regarding anisotropic, antialiasing, etc.). I know it was said that 4.34 and 4.35 can coexist but would I be better off if I uninstalled 4.34 and installed 4.35 again? 4.34 is going so smoothly for me I am afraid to mess with it.
I am using a Zbook 15 g2(Ci7-4810mq, K1100m, 16GB of ram) and by reducing particle systems modelling for clouds and such, I am getting 60fps at 1080p which is enough for me. -

hmm that is not working for me… i even replaced the whole “3dFont” folder from .34 into .35 …just to see what that does (same files) … nada… still too small (bulls-eye cirlce and numbers … and locked target info etc in fcr

If you are using another theatre than KOREA you need to replace files in KOREA and the other theatre too.
Take the respective files from KOREA 4.34 to the KOREA 4.35 and the other theatre files from 4.34 to the respective 4.35.
In conclusion you need to have 4.34 files for korea and for the other theatre in order to put them in the respective folders of 4.35. Try this and let us know!

i just tried on default korea

same not working
look…
green i made bigger (myself)
red! is what i need bigger (as it was in .34)
no idea why they changed it… dont break what is right …

Really i can not understand what is going on here. All the fonts are really odd in this picture.
Try to put the original files again and confirm that everything is ok. Maybe another member here can confirm that the files that i gave are ok. In my squadron every member is ok with this change.
-
only replacing mfd_smaller_font_d.gif and mfd_smaller_font_d.rct will work.
The theater has to point their own Ckptart dir in TDF file or should be placed into the default KTO folder. -
I fixed it differently… sometimes easy solution is best solution
I just used the
- mfd_font_d.gif
and
- mfd_font_d.rct
files
and renamed them to (as a mod)
- mfd_smaller_font_d.gif
and
- mfd_smaller_ ont_d.rct
Now everthing is very read-able. The rest are “edits” in the 3dckpit.dat files.
Note: i posted the file (mod) in BFM/ACM BAR discord https://discord.gg/kuYBPMJ … and the radar blip (contact) size and HSD symbol size you can adjust in configuration - as usual.
