I bought "Radar TDC slew upgrade for TM Cougar" (Delta Simulation Electronics)
-
Last month, I bought TM HOTAS COUGAR at auction.
The saller did various performance improvements but RDR CURSOR was out of service. Then, I bought āRadar TDC slew upgrade for TM Cougarā (Delta Simulation Electronics) .
I tried to replace that.[Parts]

Easy for beginner like me.
However, I can not use RDR CURSOR.
I suspected a wiring problem and put it on and off several times.
The result is hereāI cut purple electrical wire by mistake.
According to My teacher, Itās for ENABLE(PUSH).
I gave it up.Actually, the cause of not working is bad settings of HOTAS Control Panel.
I asked Delta Simulation Electronics.
He kindly taught me.:rolleyes:Finally, I can use RDR CURSOR!ćThanks to everyone.

Thank you.
What is āDriftā?Is Radar Curser moving unintentionally?
-
Radar Cursor drift is a an issue with throttle microstick being unable to stay in neutral position (both x and y axis reports non-zero values when microstick is untouched).
Most common solution is to add deadzones, but problem gets worse over time and once deadzone is not big enough to cover the drift microstick replacement is needed.
I do really hope using different microstick of better quality will be a proper solution for this problem. -
I replaced the factory one with a delta Sim and still have it. Also replaced the PCB.

this sucks I wonder if there is any better microstick with pushbutton than can be mounted inside cougar TQS? Any Otto parts (i know expensive as hell, but if it solves problem once for all itād be worth it)?

This is probably the single best replacement for the Cougars microstick -

ā¦unfortunately, they donāt make them anymore. However, AliBaba still lists them -
The great thing about these is that they appear to be electrically identical to the stock microstickā¦and they are a force activated controller like the RL Cursor button. You might be able to rip one of these out of a discarded keyboard, but make sure itās one that has a click function to be able to retain the ENABLE button in the Cursor. I meant to buy a few of these to experiment with, but waited too longā¦
