EZBoards - Generate kneeboards (flights, comms, stpts, weather) from briefings
-
AI use the default yardstick scheme (12/22/75/85 +1 for each next flight) but it’s not changeable. Once someone memorizes the pattern it’s not necessary to have it briefed.
-
Anyway, please see if you can do something with those PPT’s …, since I’ve seen in briefing.html that you’ve pulled out INS/Precision target steerpoints, and that helps a biggie .
Do you have some examples (paste your callsign.ini lines) for steerpoints you would like to have versus those you don’t want to?
I’ll be waiting for some more feedback from other people to see if and what is requested exactly. -
I can’t think none other then this one:
ppt_2=1645059.375000, 2571349.000000, 0.000000, 0.100000, X
It is a “Harpoon” PPT , so only coordinates are important as we’re using that to input in harpoon/precision target steerpoint (90-99) … manually via LIST-DEST
We would assign those coordinates directly in eg. stp90 . but problem is that you can assign target steerpoint only on some target, in recon/target screen.
You cannot assign target steerpoint to an empty space, sea, … that would be cool… or even copy waypoint to another waypoint … via ICP/DED.
Currently we copy coords in DEST page from that PPT(stp58 ) to stp90 … that works… but when you can READ it … it saves time… same with TACAN … fred. (I wasn’t using enough t o have it memorized, have it even printed tho )

Oh yeah, the thing is, forgot to tell ya, (AA) TACAN is REVERSED … so One= 1 (12Y) is actually 75Y in DED input , and 4 (85Y) is “22Y” in DED input. … yeah funny, ask fred for his yardstick … kidding, it is allways +/-63 , depends if wanted tacan is over or eq >=64 , then it is subtracted , otherwise is addition …
So you might use already corrected numbers in .html 1(75) 2(85) 3(12) 4(22) … also AWACS will always return already corrected AA tacan for tanker … so if it says 29Y then it is 29Y you input in DED (and NOT 29+63=92Y in DED input, while 92Y is really its real tacan number )
…bah confusing … but easy
-
I know what you mean, but I’m using the same convention as WDP. So this should spark a larger debate.
@Frederf: When you say AI use the default yardstick scheme (12/22/75/85) it is how their yardstick is configured, i.e. what they have put into DED, right?
(Not what you are supposed to input to link up with them.) -
V7 Released.
This is a minor bug fix release, No features added. If you don’t have issues no need to upgrade.- Can handle briefings that don’t have a Weather or Comms section.
- Will still generate a briefing (but without Target steerpoints) if Callsign.ini file isn’t found.
- Will make a backup copy of texture file on first use.
- Improved diagnostic output.

Your work is awesome. I use it in every flight and it helps a lot. I would appreciate a help, if you may. I am trying to pin a shortcut in my desktop area but when I run the batch form the shortcut it doesn’t work. if I run the batch form the folder (the file itself) it works ok. I shall be setting some thing wrong here. This is my shortcut setup:
"C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k “C:\Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Briefings\EZWATCH.BAT”
EZWATCH opens and runs but then “The system cannot find the path specified”
Any clue?
cheers :yo:
EDIT: I am aware this is not a problem with your program but a problem with my incompetence
-
Try setting the “Start in:” property of the shortcut to match the folder it’s in.
-
Like Frederf said.
Or alternatively, just drag the EZWATCH.BAT file using right mouse button to wherever you want the link, then on release in the popup menu select “Create shortcut here”.
Will create a classic shortcut with the “Start in” property already filled in like required. -

Thanks guys :blowpar:

Quick mod for theaters that don’t have a KTO object folder like Georgia or Baltic…
Replace section in EZBOARDS.BAT:
IF "%THEATER%"=="Korea KTO" ( SET THEATERPATH=%BASEDIR%\Data\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj ) ELSE ( SET THEATERPATH=%BASEDIR%\Data\Add-On %THEATER%\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj )
by
IF "%THEATER%"=="Korea KTO" ( SET THEATERPATH=%BASEDIR%\Data\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj ) ELSE ( IF EXIST %BASEDIR%\Data\Add-On %THEATER%\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj\ ( SET THEATERPATH=%BASEDIR%\Data\Add-On %THEATER%\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj ELSE ( SET THEATERPATH=%BASEDIR%\Data\TerrData\Objects\KoreaObj ) )
That should help…
-
Good idea! Will include it in the next update. Did you test it?
-
You really think I would post it if I did not?

This approach is still leaving out theaters that
1. Dont have a KoreaObj Folder
2. Don’t use the KoreaObj folder from KTOExample Theater would be ITO80 which is a add-on to Israel so it would fall back it’s parent theater TerrData\objects\KoreObj folder.
could be read from the tdf files 3ddatadir parameter -
Yes but in this case, you have no other options but to read the theater file and check where the object folder is pointing to…
To be honest… ITO80 is covered by WDP…

Thank you Logic for your tool - it looks like a nice addition to WDP. I just gave it a go, but it crashes as hostfxr.dll seems to be missing (see the screenshots for details). The batch script actually keeps running and finally generates a dds file that contains only blank pages. The blank dds is eventually moved to KoreaObj too.
Thanks for the feedback!
Could you try to see if installing the .NET Core Runtime 3.1.11 https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-core/3.1 will solve the problem?I also got the hostfxr.dll problem. When I get to this website, https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/3.1 where is download button? Or what/how am I supposed to download?
Edit:
I saw a YouTube video about Dot Net and downloaded and installed .Net Desktop Runtime 3.1.18 and .Net Runtime 3.1.18 from the website you recommended. This got rid of my problem with hostfxr.dll, and the kneeboards work in my BMS Falcon. Thanks, it’s really good as the first left and right page of the kneeboard.
Now my questions are: Did I need both of those downloads and installs? what is their purpose? -
Logic, I’m a fan of this software, especially for how quickly and easily it gets the job done. Thank you for this contribution. The http server is also a brilliant addition and makes my iPad essential again now that touchscreen ICPs have lost their novelty. I have a serious suggestion though, and it’s a pretty big ask: what about making the output configurable? I think your tool would be totally unique and more widely used if it were possible, perhaps via switching to an editable XML or HTML template, to change the data fields and their arrangement. Formatting could still be done in CSS. This would allow squadrons / flight leads to produce kneeboard cards with their preferred info on them, as is done in real life. Maybe in the long run it could even run user-customized local JavaScript to generate custom weapon delivery data, etc.
I hope you agree these would be killer features that would enhance capability without complicating the average user’s experience. Thanks again for your work on this tool, it instantly became my favorite way to reference flight data for MP without the WDP dance.

I created a shortcut for EZWATCH.bat and ran it. In BMS 2D i saved the DTC, clicked on Print in the Briefing (not HTML). Why do I get this error message?

Norton Anti Virus software was blocking EZWatch. Here’s Norton’s report:
I excluded EZWatch from Norton and EZWatch ran successfully.

Very tidy app. I like the extracted css file, allowing custom formats/colors, and how we can change the path for different theaters. I’ll make a separate bat file for each theater that i use! Great work @Logic
