TRAPPED IN THEATER SELECTION SCREEN. PLEASE HELP!!!

Disable UAC if it’s active on your account….
Run BMS and it’s installer as admin.
jcenzano: delete BMS and EVERYTHING related to it. Then Run a reg-cleaner like AML-regcleaner. It helped me, so i thought it could help you to.
Tried those two things. No luck. Still unable to switch to any “non-stock” theater.

Not sure what’s up.
Try comparing your add-on folder structure and theater.lst to mine.

Ramsay, I believe you’re on the right track… it may be folder structure and where the add-ons are directed to…

This is mine.
I think it is identical to yours.
I am beginning to lose hope…

jcenzano,
First, create a folder on your desktop and name it, uhhhh, jcenzano, yeah that’s good, haha.
Then go o into your x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition folder and copy your theater.lst file and place it in that folder you created on the desktop.
Next, go into your x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-On Israel\theaterdefinition folder and copy the it-bms.TDF and paste it also into the folder on the desktop.
Now, zip the file and send it to my email. I will PM you my email address.

Hi all,
jcenzano have an mp. -
Take a look at:
C:\Users*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore
See if you can find any Falcon 4 / BMS files in there, or under Program Files (x86) in the path above.
If so, you have written to virtualstore and possibly have a 2nd registry entry confusing BMS.
To ensure your virtualstore registry is clean, open regedit…
Search “virtualstore” and look at all instances. Ensure no BMS registry is found under any “virtualstore” sub key.
Of course disabling UAC disables this functionality, but I’m not 100% sure.
Still worth a try…

I could not find any BMS traces neither on C:\Users*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore or the virtualstore subkey of the registry.
So still on square one.
of course thank you very much for the suggestion.

Very strange,

Ok, i founf this registry entry, but not the one of the virtual store.
This is my key
REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.32] "baseDir"="E:\\Juegos\\Falcon BMS 4.32" "curPlatform"=dword:00000000 "curTheater"="Korea PvP" "PilotName"=hex:4a,6f,65,20,50,69,6c,6f,74,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "PilotCallsign"=hex:56,69,70,65,72,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
AND IT WORKS!!! I can type israel there or Korea and then the correct theater will be selected.
Is there any way to make it work normally, with the selection screen???
Someone pointed me on the right “curTheater” direction but I made a mistake and I searched the registry for CUTtheater instead. My bad…

If it worked there then there is an issue with one of the text files. Please read back and send me the files to my email that I requested.

Problem in Win 7 x64:
1 From main menu, click Isreal theater, then Ok. Return to main menu. Exit game.
2 Restart game and it will start in Israel theater. From main menu/Theater pick Korea (KTO), then ok, then exit game.
3 Restart game and see bug that it is still in Isreal theater. The bug is caused by the “curTheater” entry in “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.32” being set to
“Korea” with no trailing zero. “4B 00 6F 00 72 00 65 00 61 00” in unicode binary.It should be set to “Korea” WITH a trailing zero (end of string marker): “4B 00 6F 00 72 00 65 00 61 00 00 00” (unicode binary).
The player can patch this by entering “Korea” into the “curTheater” field in RegEdit. RegEdit will add the invisible zero marker. The game will now start in the Korean theater as expected.
BMS/ITO authors can fix the bug better now that it is known what the problem is.
Cheers

Clark@RAM, thanks for the head ups email
@Klarkkaus thanks for th info.I don’t think that we are having the same problem.
When I change the theater via curTheater registry entra I have no problem at all, but when I try to change theaters via the UI BMS completely freezes.
It is not like you that you think that the theater has been changed and when BMS is started again you find yourself again in the previous theater.
When I try to change to any addon theater (it does not happen with the stock ones) BMS stops working completely. i don´t even get an error message. It just freezes and I have to call up the process explorer and kill the BMS process.
Anyway I will check this korea zeroes issue. I have nothing to loose

Sorry for pumping up this Topic.
First try Launching your Desktop icon. Then launch the BMS Editor.
Up to go to File>Select Theater and see if you can change it that way.

What theaters do you have installed?
Also, are you familiar with your Registry? What Win OS you on?
