Actually, what the briefing says really doesn’t affect the outcome of the campaign. What affects the outcome of the campaign is what you kill on the ground and the air. These kills will allow your ground units to take objectives and advance to your goal. If you want see how well you are doing, go to the Intel screen and play the JSTAR animation. The more the Blue Units, assuming you are flying for NATO, advance across the the map, the closer the campaign is to ultimate victory.
The debrief only knows that u were given a certain task or target and failed that task or didnt hit that target.
EX: Other day was on an sead mission against a known sa6 battt but on the way i spotted an sa11 just beside it.
This is the beuty of the dynamic campaign in that the sa11 had prolly just spawned in but anyhow the sa11 now becomes the priority target and i ordered my wingies to take it out and hammered it but never got the desgnated target which was the sa6.
Irl the dudes would do the same thing but when i seen the debrief i was given a HORRIBLE rating lol.
This is because the code cant see that u made a better decision by taking out the sa11.
It only knows that u didnt hit your intented target…
You can fail evey single mission in any campaign in any version of F4 and still win.
Thats why most peeps dont worry about the rating so much.

Yep,i know what your saying,in the cases im talking about,i did destroy the assigned target and still got failed even though dropdown showed sucess on the targets .
Yeah,not a game changer for me.
Just mentioned it for shits and giggles.
Like that short runway,i can stop in time but have to jam on
Brakes immediately,ha ha.
Always something,guess thats why i still fly it.

Ok, I just found a bug while campaign testing. It seems, if your campaign has locked up and nothing is happening, you have won the campaign. Since there is no movies, nor text displayed it won’t appear the campaign is completed. Also, since the conversion to 4.35, the logbook does not record your campaign win. I need to look into the base files and see what has changed/been altered from 4.34 to 4.35. For context, I human flew the Save0.cam file and was able to win the campaign by Day 1 2105. I did not adjust/change any of parameters from the HQ page, nor did manipulate the ground units. I left everything to the ATO/GTO.

Well that explains what happened last time.
Somewhat.This is actually the third time i started a campaign.
Never made it past day one ,it is different and seeing some crazy shit in game ( ai ) and debrief .
Well,see what happens this time .

So i started a night flight, im in a cold jet, firing up the engine and here comes a defense vehicle, the dumbass drives right into me,boom, wtf !!!

Still day one,flying the f16 out of the two different airports.
Its night missions now.
Anyhoo havent touched hq controlled and now getting almost all havcap missions.
So i will control the paks for a couple flights,see what happens.
Some crazy stuff happening around both airports.
I,ll try a couple more flights to see what happens.
Almost harder at the airports than the mission.

ha, so i jump in for another try, this time mobile stairs ran into me as im starting the jet.
maybe just me but deleting out somalia for now, panama was nice too but cant finish that one either.

Just to let you folks know, Eddropper was kind enough to help me track down my problem. The lack of air-to-air kills posting has been fixed, the campaign freeze has been taken care of too. I am going to human fly the campaign and take care of a few more playability issues including aircraft types and such as well as bug test things. Once all of those issues are fixed, I will get Ed to build me a new installer for everybody to try out.

Update - Hotfix 2
I want to give Eddropper a big thanks for helping me track down the last few bugs in Somalia. Apply the following bug fix after Hotifx 1. This will fix Somalia cam file freezing, certain aircraft not tasking, overly full airport and a host of other bug fixes.

hey chuckles, hate to ask but did u try human landing on runway 05, cant remember the airport but was the inland base.
that runway is the only one i have ever had trouble stopping in time.
the shorter of the 2 runways.
i can stop in time but only by hitting wheelsdown on the threshold and jamming on the brakes immediately.
i just want to know if its me or what, driving me nuts.
now im pretty good at landing all different ways but this one,damn. haha, no biggy if not though.
thanks again,i did download the base and update 2,couldnt find update 1 anymore but saw its not needed.
didnt install yet though. -

didnt install yet though.Yes, I know what runway you are talking about. it isn’t you, I think the runway is shorter than default BMS fields, plus I wonder if its higher altitude leads to thinner air and reduced aircraft performance. During beta testing of original Somalia, Ripper’s boys had issues taking off it with fully loaded F-15Es.

Wheww,was driving me nuts,got good at it but not correctly.
And yet the ai touchdown halfway down the strip and stop no problem.

ThanksThe think the longer strip works ok for takeoff and landing. Its just the shorter strip that is the issue for landing, mostly for the Viper. The CF-18 does have better landing performance over the stock Viper. I did notice that during my recent beta test campaign. Why AI works on the shorter strip, I am not sure. I don’t know the code well enough.
