SD mode with RUK is the most effective mode against SAM FCR.

@joker_duke said in SD mode with RUK is the most effective mode against SAM FCR.:
We are paticipating Falcon online Lorik’s Balkan TVT campaign now.
We have neutralized quite a few SAM fire control radars over Bosnia by this way. So i suppose we can call it AGM-88EI hope you are on the Blue side…
-
@icer Yeah , We are on the blue. i saw you on the discord. body. We need to clean red’s air defense near the FLOT. we are operating over Bosnia…Take out SAM then cut off their supplie.
Watch out code,Sandman and SW. These dudes are the biggest threat. they are intercepters.HAHAHa, .very exciting and .fun. -

@icer My escorts will deal with them. hahaha

In short.
No one dare to become a red any longer…
ah, what times are these we are living?Going to Nevada straight back, then.
Bah.
With best regards.

More seriously, now.
@JOKER_duke :
thanks to you and all in your Squadron as well, I was made able to think a little more and once again at the same time about my favourite topic: wise tactics.
Good not for mission making only, I mean.Keep on the really good job done and thanks for sharing your efforts.
I personally will always like to learn more about yor experiences, and some videos would come particularly appreciated, if you will like it of course. With best compliments and regards.

thank you very joker_duke, it is also very effective against SA6, much more AGM-65D because of the difference in speed. With the HARM I didn’t need to wait as long.
-
I tried this with 4 SA6’s on a site in a TE I built in ODS theater. The first straight flush was was gone using the RUK + SD mode. The second one always misses! although I followed the exact procedure as the first. I also made sure that I approach their firing radar aligned so that the closest one would be the firing one.
-
POS RUK + GS DE + SD works like a charm.
So I’ve decided to stop using it cos I think it’s unrealistic -
@aelfewulf I think posted long time ago that the realistic HARM can go after the firing radar even after it is shut off
-
But even more effective are those British ones, jsut according to those few we are allowed to learn about (you know what I mean for that).
With best regards.
-
looks like BIT needs to be pushed for the second HARM otherwise it will be a miss even if weapon page says ready.
-
@alfred SA6 is mobile … can you clarify, are you firing at a preplanned target steerpoint, or acquiring the straight-flush via FCR or TGP?
Did you verify visually (TGP … and remember to cursor-zero etc) that the target stpt is on the straight-flush targeting radar … and it still misses?
-
@airtex2019 yes each time the straight was placed on a new waypoint (26-27-…). The straight flush would be folded and moving then it stops to unfold. This is the moment when I place it on a new waypoint. There were four of them, first one gets shot in an impressive time (compared to AGM-65) and the other one the HARM keeps missing. But every time I do the built in test the second HARM doesn’t miss. There were also two very close straight flushes, I placed one on a waypoint , shot the HARM when they both painted my ship but the HARM got the other one.
-
@alfred if you zip up the TE and upload it to google-drive or wherever, I’ll give it a try. I love a good wild-weasel practice TE.
Only other pitfall that comes to mind … you have to remember to select ‘6’ on the MFD for the second HARM.
I’m honestly not sure what happens when you don’t select an emitter type… does it just go ballistic and not track anything … or is it wide open and will track any ground-based radar it sees, near that steerpoint?
But pretty sure I’ve lost a HARM or two, doing that, in the heat of battle.
-
if no threat type is selected then there was no handoff therefore a miss. I just tested the WP page option, I think it’s better than HTS in that 4.35 added the flex and glide feature which allows the HARM to chase the emitter even if it is not emitting. By selecting wypt 57 type from HSD it will miss with no emission even if you are in RUK +GE DE+ SD. But, if you managed to place the fire control radar on a waypoint (using mark point) then the recommended mode in this thread will get it even if it is not turned on. With this technique I managed to shoot the straight flush without being in it’s range. With AGM-65 I am in his range and he is in my range before anyone can shoot, which is more risky.

@airtex2019 I uploaded the TE file it’s called “F-16C Blk52 SA6&6&6&6” , let me know if you need any other information.
