After action scoring.

Hello Forum.
I flew an escort mission recently, protecting a strike package in a campaign.
The mission went well, the strike destroyed its target.
For whatever reason, no enemy air rose to the challenge. AWACS continually declared to threats.
Strike and Escort returned to base.
In the debrief the strike received an “Excellent” score while the Escort was rated as poor.Surely, the mission of the Escort is to protect the strike from attack, enable them to hit the target and RTB unscathed.
If no attacking aircraft appear, Escort station time etc are achieved and the strike is delivered home successfully, is the Escort’s task not achieved?
After all, the Escort should not detach from the package it’s protecting to go off hunting kills and medals. Can whatever scoring algorithm is used be adjusted to reflect a successful Escort, in a no enemy no kill, situation?
Thanks,
Bayonet.

Over the years, I’ve learned to disregard the debrief pass/fail portion. Ask yourself, “Did I succeed in my mission? Did my package achieve its objectives? Did I lose airframes?” The debrief is actually somewhat comical at times. Plan an interdiction and drop some JSOW. You’ll get an air medal and debrief will tell you light damage was suffered by your opponent. Fly a CAP, kill half their Air Force, fail due to leaving your station area. Don’t sweat the small stuff. The years have shown that the developers haven’t prioritized fixing the debrief, and I don’t expect it in the next few releases. I could be surprised though. Don’t count it out

@bayonet this area really needs some love.

And not necessarily the way we commonly think.
Pilot rating should not be indexed on number of kill or a/c loss (sometimes there is no kill and it is normal, and sometimes we loose a/c and it is not “player”'s fault.) -

While I agree with the sentiment 100% and I don’t get wrapped around the rating in the personal sense, you may want to consider the human multiplier effect and adding the old noplayerplay to the cfg with a larger amount of time to it. A poor human mission performance multiplier can make difficult campaigns go poorly. You may also consider following up a mission that was poorly rated but effective quickly on the campaign clock with a easy milk run one that will give a good rating, the you can let the campaign cook for awhile with your noplayerplay timeframe for the next mission.

Pilot rating should not be indexed on number of kill or a/c loss (sometimes there is no kill and it is normal, and sometimes we loose a/c and it is not “player”'s fault.)… the strict respect of push point and push time should also be rated … Not the time on target.
Perhaps, the non respect of ATC could also induce some penalties. -
Hi snake122, the concept of “noplayerplay to the cfg” is new to me.
Is this suggestion aimed at the Devs?
As somebody who steers very wide of interfering with the config, I hope so
Would you like to elaborate?Thank you all for your replies, it seems we are all on the same hymn sheet.
Thanks,

@bayonet it’s actually an ancient thing that’s became undocumented but recently confirmed it still works (in a different thread than linked:
