F4 BMS 4.35 and Display extraction with RTTConfig
-
Sorry, it 's not possible actually because HSI is’nt in the list of displays. RTT displays “only” HUD, DED, PFL, MDF L, MDF R, RWR and HMS.
MFDE includes all cockpit instruments working with 4.35. For MFD’s it may suffer the same random freezes as RTT does due to the same shared memory reading

just curious how do you shut off rtt client in bms? seems I have to control alt delete every time to shut it down to reprogram it.
Also Oak Design 4.35 does not work with Lightenings mfd extractor for MFDS. if you got yours working please let me know because I have not been able to get them to work. -

Also Oak Design 4.35 does not work with Lightenings mfd extractor for MFDS. if you got yours working please let me know because I have not been able to get them to work.I build mine from the source code and the version I’m using works for 4.35 and 4.34.
If you are using the current release version of 0.6.3.0 than you have to add
set g_bDoubleRTTResolution 1
to your falcon bms.cfg
or you can try
my build
https://drive.google.com/file/d/177VhX_kTKOSL9vjobD7fzHGk2GupigrP/view?usp=sharing
it is build as a portable version so doesn’t come with an installer. Just unzip to any folder you want and start the MFDEExtractor.exe. Can be used tested even witout uninstalling the MFDE version you have currently installed. To easily identity the versions is if on the MFD / HUD option page you still have the option for MFD #3 and #4 you are using a version that needs the g_bDoubleRTTResolution to be part of the config.
If the config page only shows Left/right and HUD it’s buil from the latest source code and works with 4.35 out of the box
Left is old source code, right is new source code -
Your discussion would be more readable and more beneficial to the community in a dedicated thread e.g: “MFDE and F4 BMS 4.35”
RTTConfig only concerns RTT remote.
My two cents.

There is a way to get the «MFD images» overlay (from RTT or MFDE) when using a Print Screen?
Pretty screen shot option On or Off doesn’t help. The MFD image overlay never appear in my output picture…I need to get the MFD images output within the “Print screen” for technical documentation requirements and the “MFD Extraction” inside the main Falcon BMS 3D screen should give me a very clean PNG image output of the MFD. If I remember, this was possible in the past, but I am unable to do this in BMS 4.35 U1.
Thanks for your help.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t work before as well. Why should it ever Printscreen is using BMS internal screenshot. BMS itself doesn’t even know that a display Extraction tool is running at all. So in order to get a screenshot with overlays you might wanna use the Operating system Printscreen instead

Was having issues with MFDE 0.6.3.0 not displaying MFDs in other theaters, worked fine for KTO only. I had never used the RTT client before, found this tool last night and had RTT up an running fine in less than 10 minutes! So now I use RTT to extract the MFDs and use MFDE for everything else.
Thanks for this great RTT setup tool.

This is extracting as it should but I am unable to reposition or resize using the mouse. Any thoughts as to why? Thanks for the work. great idea.
-
@Kerfuffle you can’t do it with mouse as far as i know.
I did the positioning with my 4.33 via MFD extractor write down the x and y Coordination also the size of the both MFD und gave it to the tool RTT manual. -

@AlphaFox very nice and easy tool, is it gonna work on 4.36 to?
-
Hi,
Has anyone got RTTConfig to work with 4.36? I can’t seem to be able to point it to the right folder and keep getting an error.
Fortunately I had saved the old 4.35 RTTClient.ini so I could manually input the MFD coordinates, but it would be great to have the tool available to carry out any tweaks or repositioning.
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Dram.

@AlphaFox said in F4 BMS 4.35 and Display extraction with RTTConfig:
Now data extraction for MFDs and other instruments is done via the RTTclient.
The configuration must be done Manually, which is less comfortable than before.
I have created software to do this: RTTConfig. You just have to position the instruments on your screen and save the configuration. Is this compatible to 4.36.2?
Thanks for the share. -

Note that this handy little app still works, but it looks for the old .35 path. So make sure this path exists, and then the program should work just fine.

Hi all,
Been flying on and off since 4.33 but recently came back, hence the new account.I wasn’t able to get this working by creating the 4.35 file path. I had a hunch this was because I never had 4.35 installed on this machine, so I didn’t have the registry values. Sure enough, creating a 4.35 registry value pointing to the 4.37 install worked.
Here’s the end result. It’s a basic registry edit, but the steps are below for those unfamiliar.
- Hit start and type RegEdit.
- Navigate to this path:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims
- If you do not have Falcon BMS 4.35 under Benchmark Sims, right click Benchmark Sims and hit New > Key. Name it
Falcon BMS 4.35
. - Now right click Falcon BMS 4.35 and hit New > String value.
- Name the value
baseDir
. - Double click baseDir, and set the value to your Falcon 4.37 install path (i.e.
C:\Falcon BMS 4.37
) - Run RTTConfig
In the future, if the install directory changes, change this registry key to point to it. Hope we can get the source from Alpha or another utility soon.

@Raynor Many thanks. Worked perfectly.

Just dropping this here for future reference… easier instructions:
Paste the following command into Start / Run dialog =>
reg add "hklm\Software\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.35" /v baseDir /d "C:\Falcon BMS 4.37"
Alternatively, check out the new GUI tool from BibleClinger to help manage these reg entries.
