Solved Field of View is too wide
-
Hi guys and gals I am using three 22in screens at 5760X1080 for 4.36. I have set the FOV in configuration to 90 and to 40 and neither changes anything. My issue is that I can’t get the CockPit and Hud to reduce in size. My HUD takes up over 2/3rds of my center screen and that is with the zoom all the way in. I’m trying to get the HUD and at least the top third of the cockpit in the center screen. Can anyone point me in the direction where I can reduce the size of my cockpit a bit?

“2” view or “3” view?
If “3” view, then set your FoV to 180. It will be 180 degrees across the FULL WIDTH. Your center screen is 33% of that, so 60 degrees.
You may even need to try 210 degrees in order to get a reasonable view in the forward monitor (70 degrees).
In Falcon the FoV affects the horizontal viewing angle, with the vertical FoV being set relative to the horizontal FoV.
(For reference, his display is 48:9 aspect ratio).

@Pinefang Haven’t tested in 4.36 but setting FOV used to not work if you specify a default FOV outside the min/max bounds.
Try this cfg:
set g_fMinimumFOV 20.0 set g_fNarrowFOV 60.0 // optional .. for the 'FOVToggle' (Look Closer) callback set g_fDefaultFOV 120.0 set g_fMaximumFOV 120.0

I use this for my 3x32" triple setup…
set g_fDefaultFOV 120 // Default FOV
set g_fMaximumFOV 160 // Limits the maximum amount that the FOV can be increased
This is what I get with a slight zoom in with the mouse wheel (~25%)…

with my Odyssey G9 ( Ultrawide screen 49")
I use
set g_fDefaultFOV 100.0
set g_fMaximumFOV 100.0otherwise, the screen is too much deformed on left&right sides
by the way, an improvement which correct this issue, would be very nice !

You should be putting any new or modified config lines in Falcon BMS User.cfg and leaving the Falcon BMS.cfg file alone. This way any updates will have no effect on your changes…
