Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37

@Icer OK Thanks, now corrected.
-
Thanks for the update.
Would the 4.35 profile still work after updating to 4.36? -

Thanks for the update.
Would the 4.35 profile still work after updating to 4.36?Replace the Bin folder with the new 4.36-01 Bin folder and I think most of it should still work except for the canopy switch, the external lighting panel, the radio comms panel and the charts which will be out of date.

@linknet please note that since Alternative launcher 2.0, it is “BMS - auto.key” that is used instead of “BMS - full.key”. Maybe you could update the install document. Thank You.

OK, thanks. I’ve updated the instructions on the web page and included a link to the revised Setup Guide.
The revised Setup Guide will be included in the full download with the next profile update if and when that becomes necessary.

@linknet I’m trying to figure out how this works and can’t seem to get it to work in the rampstart TE, does it have to be on a night mission?
The profile supports Instrument Lighting. The gauge backlighting and also the profile overall brightness adjust automatically in accordance with the BMS setting. The Instrument Lighting setting in BMS can be adjusted by swiping up and down on the right hand edge of the Centre Console.
Can someone please show me what it’s supposed to look like with backlighting on? Thanks!

Just need everything powered up.

@linknet Tried it in the Landing TE and very cool!

Looks great on a night mission with the instrument lighting on full and the room lighting off so that you’re almost in complete darkness. Although if you’re using TrackIR the LED lights might be a nuisance. I use EdTracker so no problems there.
-
@linknet I don’t do much night flying (at the moment!) but yes, it does look very cool!

@linknet thanks for updating to 4.36. You do an incredible job with this. I am amazed at how complicated it is. You must have some experience in HMI programming.
I changed from flying with Thrustmaster MFDEs Velcroed to my second monitor with extracted displays to this a little over a year ago and I think the only way I would fly without it now would be if VR is even implemented. I finally did an update to this latest version and so far so good. I had to add a few custom changes from the older version I had. Mostly just personal preference items but if you think it might be worth adding to the base here they are
-
Add an idle detent button. (Does one already exist and I am just missing it?)
-
Prevent the comms menu from auto closing when sending the EPU and Chocks request
-
Add a track IR center button to the button menu
-
Add a Headlamp button to the button menu
-
Add an AWACS picture button directly on the button menu for faster access to it (I am working on getting FoxVox to replace this but my mic isnt good enough yet)
-
Add an AWACS declare button directly on the button menu for faster access to it
-
Remove the HMCS from turning on after takeoff. (Still trying to get this to work, removed the set position when the landing gear handle is triggered on the HMCS knob in the HMCS Aux panel, but it is still turning on for some reason. Do I need to set position 1 rather than just removing it?)
Again, great job with this and thanks for all the hard work on it!!!

I had to look up the meaning of HMI programming so obviously no experience in that.
The profile is essentially setup with my own preferences so bear that in mind when you read my comments below.
- Add an idle detent button. (Does one already exist and I am just missing it?)
There isn’t an idle detent button in the profile, I have that on one of the HOTAS buttons.
- Prevent the comms menu from auto closing when sending the EPU and Chocks request
Good idea, but if I do that I’ll get complaints that the comms menu isn’t always closing.
- Add a track IR center button to the button menu
I use EdTracker combined with Open Track instead of TrackIR. Therefore I have the following mapped on the HOTAS:
Toggle Tracking On/Off
Centre Tracking
Freeze Tracking (at current view)
Centre View (look straight ahead)- Add a Headlamp button to the button menu
What is the callback for that and where is the switch in the real aircraft? Or is that the console floodlighting?
- Add an AWACS picture button directly on the button menu for faster access to it (I am working on getting FoxVox to replace this but my mic isnt good enough yet)
- Add an AWACS declare button directly on the button menu for faster access to it
I have both of those on HOTAS buttons.
- Remove the HMCS from turning on after takeoff.
In an AIR start the HMCS is turned on whereas on a RAMP or HOT start it is turned off. Therefore I set the HMCS to turn on after raising the landing gear to save having to turn it on manually after a RAMP or HOT start.
What you have done seems correct if you don’t want the HMCS to turn on after raising the landing gear.

I have an issue with the kneeboards.
When I press “update Kneeboards” the correct kneeboards are copied from WDP to c:\Bin\Kneeboards"; but they are not updated on the screen. I allways see the old ones.
Please help.

But they weren’t getting copied to \Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.36\Kneeboards, still trying to copy to 4.35.
I’ve added a link to the revised KneeboardsUpdate.exe file on the first post to fix it, just copy to the C:\Bin folder overwriting the existing file.
And just check that Windows doesn’t mark it as blocked since it doesn’t like downloaded exe files!!
-
@linknet Thank You Linknet! The kneeboards are showing correctly.

-
@linknet How does the profile know if you have a cold start, ramp start, or air start?
-
@Atlas From shared memory via Falcon Interface > Runtime > Flight Start Mode.

Thanks for the update Linknet! I’m here to report back that the version 4.36-1 works as intended and all but when I updated to 4.36-2 some of the switches doesn’t work no matter how I swipe on them, like Main Battery switch and Jet Fuel Starter switch. I replaced the Bin Folder and Helios profile as you instructed, with my old key file then new one copied from the new bin folder and reconfigured with my warthog, but the problem persisted.
