IAI Lavi
-
Hello,
I am very happy to send you a first video of my Lavi
Click on the picture to get the vidéo.
Contrary to what I have done before, this model was fully AFM designed.
My Lavi will then be delivered with a OFM and an AFM file.
Aircraft is now 95% animated, I still have adjustments to finish.
Most difficult was to have a relevant fly by wire system. I still have issues with the pitch control, but it’s getting better and better.
Gears are now fully animated also, I hope you will enjoy it in my video.
Enjoy !

@Radium a masterpiece !!!

Hello,
some weekend update !
First thing : I lost all my flight model data…
I explain : usually, when I do a flight model, I take an existing base (F-16 RNLAF for example), for both OFM and AFM (no offense to dutch people, I just don’t use this aircraft for anything else).
Then, I (with maximum delay), decided to update my 4.36 to U1 (my biggest mistake).
As you may guess : I totally forgot that U1 will erase FM data… Then, everything was lost…
Well. I did it once, I will do it twice, devs all know this kind of frustration !
Anyway, here some updates (after downdate…), mostly about texture.
Main texture is basically an IAF F-16A livery, that I arranged (with the side roundel that was found on legacy Israel fighters).
Texture job has then started, but for now, it’s only colors, no specific drawing or photorealistic parts. Ambiant occlusion shadows are really nice to avoid a lot of texturing work.
I also did a little enjoyment putting some weapons under Lavi (thanks Hayab for Python 3 & 5 !)
I then decided to put an heavy payload, but still realistic, according to documents I have that will help me to do a realistic payload sheet :
That being said, I will not put all of them, according to some testimonies I got that proved that not all of these hardpoints (especially 13 and 14) would have been used. I tried to be smart and arrange something realistic.
Stay tuned !

@Radium beautiful.
-
Beautiful! Hope you will provide 2 skin-schemes: IAI Lavi white prototype/demonstrator, and IAF F16 camo style. Will you incorporate this in ITO?
-
@Setmose hello,
I do not plan the white one because it was just a test bed.
I plan a F-16-like camo, and also a F-15-like grey livery.
Of course it will be integrated in ITO, in fact, this work is jointly done with my friend vAICon (ITO theater manager).
Cheers !

@Radium Pure art, thank you for been around m8!!
-
@Raptor Thank you very much !
Today, I am working to do some irregularity on the main texture (and other refinements).
I think it’s important to have an aircraft who lives, and not a museum flower pot !

just some extra artwork of the lavi’s loadouts + camo scheme -
Are you also doing the cockpit layout / automation?
-
@Radium Always backup before upgrades! That includes disk defrag!
-
Hello buddies,
thank you for your feedbacks !
@Toot, thank you so much for these documents. That being said, there is something I am suspicious about :
From my information and according to the structural data I have, I do not believe in the 6 bomb centerline. To me, it’s impossible.
That being said, I trend to believe that Lavi would have been able to carry this, maximum :
(This picture is from my 3dsmax, doing integration tests, what works, what doesn’t works). I really live to work on this model because there is a glimpse of engineering to do, it’s not just only about copying something that exist !
For camo, I decided to stricly use F-16A style livery. I guess this is what is the most realistic !
@Setmose, I am thinking to make a cockpit. But it will use F-16 avionics ! Abour defrag, no need for it, I only use SSD for storage.
If some are interested by it, here is my specs :
CPU : Intel Core i5-7400 CPU
RAM : 16,0Â GB RAM
GPU : RTX3070 8GB RAM
2 x 27" screens
1 x 43" screen
Thrustmaster T16000 + TWCSMy next investment is to replace my 3070 by a 3090 and a HTC Vive Pro VR set
If some want my 3070, I still have the original box, it’s one year old and working perfecty, you can make an offer.
Best regards,
Radium

@Setmose
This is an official, signed piece of the lavi’s weapons and carrying abilities, if you need it
This is one of the wind tunnel test mockups with a loadout -
@Raptor Hi,
I don’t want Reverb G2 because it’s not compatible with two games I want to play with :
- ADR1FT
- Half Life : Alyx.
Cheers,

Hello,
Since yesterday, I am working on afterburner… Here is a quick video (click on the picture) :
Afterburner effect is never easy to make, and I try to make a custom effect for al my models.
Stay tuned !

This is one of the wind tunnel test mockups with a loadoutNice docs!
Do you have a documantation of the cannons, one seated plans, air brakes, intended hardpoints (the carrier itselfs) for the lavi? -
just curious, what’s the weapon under AGM 65?
it looks like AGM XX ? 62? -
Hello everybody !yes,
@ccc1tw, yes, it is surely AGM-62 !
I am very happy to post new work in progress pictures.
I worked all the day on my Lavi : animations are fully done and adjusted, and I managed to have a realistic representation of Lavi FBW.
Basically, aircraft will come with both OFM file and AFM file. You can see in the following screenshots that canards are not animated by simple DOFs, but behave exactly like what I found in the real aircraft.
Texture also got some updates, with a lot of additional details. Nevertheless, structure line and weathering are both still missing, but it’s coming.
I am pretty happy of this WIP, as far as I know, there were only very Lavi done in flight simulation !
By the way : afterburner is a fully new asset that I build, it doesn’t contains anything from my fellow devs. This aircraft is 100% done by me (including OFM & AFM, with the kind help and support of vAIcon.
I still need to work on a lot of details on the aircraft, I want to experiment some more Vray functionalities to have a nice render !
Stay tuned !
