Solved trackir in external wiew
-
Dear colleagues, since the 4.36 U2 update I have a problem, even when the trackir is disabled in external views, it continues to move around the plane when I move my head. Is that so with the new update?

set g_bExternalTrackIROrientation 0

I noticed the same thing last night. The 4.36 U2 changelog says, “- Added TrackIR controls external and eyefly view camera orientation.” Personally, I could have done without that change/feature.
My work around - Don’t move head while in orbit camera view.

Can the external trackir be disconnected?
-
In the trackIR software you can set keyboard command for centering, pause and precision on/off. Set something to pause, it will stop following any head movements. This is totally independent from any BMS settings, and works in all game.

maybe @chihirobelmo can help…

@VO101_Tom
Good suggestion: I didn’t think of it. I’ll give it a try.GC

BTW this feature in U2 has euler angle gimbal lock problem. As camera goes top/bottom view, TIR yaw controls roll… U3 may fix this.

added to changelog as well

@chihirobelmo
Thank you. You provided the perfect solution to disable TrackIR pitch and yaw motion in the orbit camera view.GC

@chihirobelmo said in trackir in external wiew:
set g_bExternalTrackIROrientation 0
I can’t find this line anywhere in F4BMS files. So where exactly do I have to add it?
Thanks
-
@Sabre
add it directly to the file: “Falcon BMS User.cfg”
It works perfectly!! -
Thanks Raiden you beat me to it, that’s exactly what I did right after posting my question here yesterday and it worked.

@chihirobelmo This worked but now I can’t move the external view with the mouse. Any ideas?

Not sure why this was not brought up. Just disable this and now you can use your mouse. I want to have the option to use TrackIR to move the camera around in orbit then if you want to use the mouse again you just F9 to disable TrackIR.
