BMS 4.36 installation failed
-
Installation fails with “unable to create folder” and then just hangs. Anyone know how to resolve this. I am trying to install on one of my 4Tb drives with 95% free (D:\Falcon BMS 4.36)

@miketabone At which point does it fail?
-
can you add the BMS folder to windows defender exception list and try again?
-
@miketabone Did you previously have it installed on drive?
And what is the path of your Setup folder…
I think there is/was some issue with re-installing on a different drive. (Or maybe installing on a drive different than the one Setup.exe is run on? Not sure.)

Thank you for your reply, as it turned out this error was the precursor to my drive failing. So after purchasing 2 new 4tb Baracuda. Was able to build my games drive again. Although BMS install is now failing with this new message.
Steps
1 downloaded the torrents
2. copied all the zips to a new Falcon BMS Zip folder
3. Extracted all the zips in Falcon BMS Setup folder
4. Executed Setup.exeError message
The registry point to a folder that does not contain a valid Falcon BMS 4.36 install. Please restore the missing files and try again or remove the registry entry
(HKLM\SOFTWARE\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.36) to be able to install the product again. Path D:\Falcon BMS 4.36\Have tried searching the registry to edit the entry, but not able to find it. Any suggestions ?

This might be over your head, but do you (user) have Admin rights on that (D) drive … ?
Does falcon setup have admin rights as a process ?It looks as some messed up security on that secondary drive, or as @MaxWaldorf said, pretty much stupid antivir.
I mean, IF it is stupid secondary drive with games, no sensitive content, … why not give “Everyone” access to the whole drive, root dir and subdirs … et voila , problem solved/

D:\Falcon BMS 4.36 zip is where I copied all the downloads too. I extracted the files inside this folder which created the \Falcon BMS 4.36 zip\Falcon BMS 4.36 setup\
The setup exe is inside this folder -
Aaah I think I see where you are coming from, … I might be wrong, but it seems like you’re trying to install to a source directory. That is a no-no.
- dir (FOLDER) FROM where you’re trying to install already exist as system is confused withe the name of your setup directory - that little space char before “zip” - so ,
“D:\Falcon BMS 4.36” already exist in:
“D:\Falcon BMS 4.36 zip”
Rename setup directory to something less funny then “\Falcon BMS 4.36 zip\Falcon BMS 4.36 setup”
eg… name it “D:\NEW FOLDER” , copy/move ALL setup files there, then try to run setup.
try this , then we’ll see.
