Solved SteamVR crashes
-
My system specs look like this:
- AMD 5800x3d CPU
- Nvidia 3060ti GPU
- 32GB RAM
- HP Reverb G2
Falcon BMS looks fine in training missions. In a real campaign my system seems to be too slow, therefore I set the g_fVRResolution to 0.8.
This allowed me to maintain about 45 fps. But after some steam vr crashes due to a “serious error”. Other games like msfs do not suffer from this issue.

I think updating Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR to beta branch fixed this issue for me.

@MrIch try disabling environment mapping. https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/23871/couple-notes-to-vr-users

I have disabled the settings but the problem seems to be the same. Normal training missions or instant action work fine, but in campaign I get a steamvr crash after some time but the sim itself continues to work…

I am having the same issue.

I have also tried to switch from steamvr beta to stable which did not help. The error occurred even faster from my impression.
Would it help to share the campaign save? The issue can be reproduced within minutes. In this mission you can barley reach the second or third waypoint. Most of the times you would not be able to take off at all.

Try to set the Antialasing Samples to “1” and Quality to “0” in the BMS Graphics Setup

Hallo!
I have to start that I am new to VR with my G2 headset. I have the same problem as shown in this topic. However I am a bit confused how to get to beta. I managed to get to Steam Vr beta. But it doesn’t show an effect. It was mentioned that WMR has to be also upgraded to beta. This is we’re I am stuck.
How do I upgrade to WM beta? Thanks for any reply

Hallo again!
I looked into the link but it doesn’t cover my specific question. So, if I upgrade the Steam VR to beta in the Steam app is this the mentioned fix? Or is the upgrade to WMR beta necessary to fix the problem? If yes, is it the same procedure to upgrade as with Steam vr?
Thanks

To me it is more a VMR issue
