Have you tried to re-install?
-
KVM is a good option if you run Linux natively. I’m not aware of a windows version however (I haven’t looked though tbh).
KVM can be daunting for a VM n00b so I think Virtualbox is a decent enough option to get started.
Cheers, Uwe

@hoover QEMU is a good option on windows as well

Yes, still a mystery.
My next move would be to reinstall everything. Do you know any procedure for a full clean uninstall that would also clean the registry?
Thanks -
@duke73 BCUninstaller is a good, free, open-sourced uninstaller that also cleans up registry “junk”. Its a power user type program so, verify what you are deleting before deleting it.
Having said that, registry values are likely not going to solve your problem.

@duke73 it depends a little on how you paid for / acquired Windows … but MS makes it very easy these days to download Win10/11 installer directly onto a USB stick
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/But remember step 1 is to BACKUP EVERYTHING you care about.
Step 2, is to BACKUP EVERYTHING else you forgot about in step 1…
Step 3, is to take opportunity to update your BIOS. (Actually go ahead and do that as Step 0… whoknows maybe it will solve problem, if it’s something related to onboard audio or other device driver conflicts?)

@duke73 I have an AMD graphics card and it may not be your case, but if in adrenalin software I activate the anti-aliasing method in supersampling mode the fps drop from 160 to 20. The best option is multiple sampling. maybe this will help you

I had this too with nvidia. I had multi sampling on in BMS supersampling on in nvidia settings. -
@duke73 your graphics screenshot is way too tiny for me to make out anything, can you post a bigger/better image?

@airtex2019
Hello airtex,
I think I found the problem.
Actually the missing audio seemed a minor problem, but at the end that is the root cause.
I’ve a ROG Strix Wireless headset that works perfectly through a dedicated ASUS usb key to make them wireless.
If I connect the headset directly with a simple audio cable to the motherboard and I do not switch on the headset, then I get more than 260 fps!!!Now the problem stays in how to make this headset working with BMS (or change it ).
Thanks you all for your support.
-
@duke73 That is pretty shocking… glad you narrowed down the problem.
I’ve had a lot of trouble with USB audio adapters … not so much re BMS but Windows in general. (2 different usb headsets x 3 different Windows 10 machines … so I place the blame somewhere within Microsoft)
If Asus offers any specific device driver downloads for the product, maybe give that a try.

@airtex2019 I’ve had similar issues with Bluetooth on my old PC, I would get drops after connecting a headset to 3-4 FPS and I’d have to restart to get full speed. Strange!

@duke73 Hi all . New returnee to BMS . Been a few years and also a big fan of the original falcon. Crickey that must mean i am getting old . Just wanted to add to your assessment of the fault. I was having exactly the same problems . No sound and very low framerate . I managed to nail it down to the Asus Sonic Studio Program . That came with my Asus Strix Soar soundcard . As soon as i disabled this app . The problem vanished .Who would have thought that a sound app could wreak so much damage. Just my two penneth , hope it helps someone .
