why don’t BMS developers enhance Ground Mapping AKA SAR imaging textures in the MFD just like DCS f-16 Viper SAR textures?
as far as i noticed ground Mapping textures in the MFD are the same textures in the main and original Falcon 4…

DCS F-16 Viper sar Imagery texture sampleThe image you posted is a DBS map (Doppler Beam Sharpening) that’s a medium resolution between real beam and synthetlc aperture radar mapping.

APG-68(V)9 was the last mechanical radar for the F-16 and did include SAR capability. BMS doesn’t model it though. I think it does the APG-65(V)5. To do the (V)9 a lot would change not just SAR, we’d have ERS for one.
DBS imagery could possibly be more realistic looking but the BMS imagery is not far off at all. Compare to some (V)1 imagery in green monochrome

Yup, it would be nice (after 20 yrs or so ) to have ‘real’ DBS/SAR on Apg.
I never liked A2G rad in Falcon/, , yes it can show outline of an airbase, but that’s about it… for precision. Square - dots.
Eg, I played Janes F15E back in … oh… 96’ 97’ … its Apg-DBS (it’s called different on F15) … have modeled even ‘shadows’ on SAR. - you could simply RECOGNIZE the target (building, tank, scud) from radar picture.
So… Falcon was somekind of ‘regress’ to AG radar ops. (even later title, Janes F18 had not so GOOD ag-rad )
But… as real as it gets - I’ve learned to live with it.Cheers
