-
@VIPER-0 Hi. Thanks for your feedback.
In my squadron the behavior is costant not random till now. Simply in the night flight we have not airport light on.
Could you explain little bit more what y change in MC time? I would like to give it a try.
Thanks!

Let’s see, I’ll tell you GUN. It’s not that it’s random on the server, it’s that when we raise the server if the lights don’t turn on it stays that way, until the next time I raise it again but touching the time on the MC and if the stars align turn on the lights and if not, it doesn’t turn them on.
I’ll explain about the time, I always set the server so that when it’s daytime here at -5UTC (CUBA) it’s night on the server and when the transition to dawn is being made on the server it’s getting dark in real life . (this is with the objective that our pilots have hours of the day and hours of night) To achieve this, before I start the server I modify the time MC to match this effect that I want.
The last time they turned on I went to MC-campaign-date and clicked to correct the day of the campaign and the time, I don’t remember if the c-17 of the server stayed, then I saved and started the server. At the moment they started yelling at me over the radio, the lights, the lights and everyone was happy. For reasons that we are still finding out, the laptop where the server is restarted and the server was lost about 5 days later (the party did not last long). After this, I went back into MC, I matched the time with the effect that I mentioned earlier and when I picked up the server, the lights no longer turned on. And well, you know, after that the wing people started joking. Booohhh.
Cheers and good luck mate.

@gundam Hi Viper_0 ALL.
I did some tests. And the fact is very strange…
Scenario: Campaign Korea KTO Rolling fire with a squadron set as Human controlled.
In the night no airport has lights on.
I took the campaign files (all the files, all the extensions) and copy those from the server to my PC.
I started from my PC the Campaign with my PC as dedicated server using the same campaign file saved before.
From my PC i fragged a flight on the ATO in the night and i see lights on in the airport. Same airport of previous test.
I need to simulate an other client that connect to my PC (as dedicated server) and see what’s happen. It seems that if the flight is on the dedicated server the airport lights works. I need to try if other client connecting to the server has or not the issue.

I’m doing some tests here too.
I put the C-17 of the server that is in hiroshima 5 min before takeoff so that it appears in a taxi state and I frag other C-17 flight with it, but it is daytime on the server and I could not check if the lights were on.
The boys are going to fly so later I will continue with the tests.

We need to know guys if when you have this issue the lights of the airbase are on or not on the server / host
This would be very valuable information

Very often we see this in our squadron in multiplayer. I don’t remember if I ever saw this offline.

We would have to remove the -norender command here, our server always has it.
When I get back home and if the guys aren’t flying, I’ll close the server and open it without the -norender to see the behavior. That will be in 11 hours, right now I go to work.
greetings.

@VIPER-0 Same. When i am at home as soon i have time i make some tests. because of i have no render too i can’t see if the server has light on…but i suppose…-just an hypothesis yes. Because i tried with my PC as dedicated server with the same campaign file and the lights was ON.
Another try i want to do is to make the server in ramp in the same airport of our squadron and not far away as it now.

around here they turned on the lights.
conditions:
rendering 3d objects (-norender off)The time was changed in the MC and the following configuration was placed.
Current Time 1. 19:40:26
Start Time 1. 01:00:00
End Time 48. 13:00:00server at night, without any generated flight, plane from the C-17 squadron server in hiroshima with HQ control, the package was created 4 minutes before takeoff so that it came out in taxy and started.
the lights turn on

@VIPER-0 hi Viper.
Could you try without just with norender in off? So with no actions on time via MC?
I suspect it could be the norender. I will try the same today.

second test squadron c17 hiroshima, control hq time changed by MC to coincide with the schedule of our wing (day server) c17 on ramp with engines off. (package created 20min before takeoff) More than 12 hours have passed, now it is night on the server and the wing pilots report that the lights do not come on. several pilots created packs in the server squadron and ramped up next to the server c17 called for takeoff and no lights came on. There were also other aircraft generated by the HQ control at the server’s airport. keep -norender off (it is generating 3d image) the server is minimized by task manager

@VIPER-0 Hi Viper, very hard to understand why it occurs and which is the reason. I have in mind couple of test using my pc instead of dedicated server. But really i have no idea where to watch.
Is there a parameter that force the Airport light to be always on?

I’ve really been struggling with this for a while. On the one hand, I’m running out of time and on the other, where I can do the tests is on the wing’s server, which is a normal laptop at the home of one of our pilots. The other thing is that the boys from the wing fly every day and it is difficult for me to stop their flying activities. I’m still going to keep working. When I return, I will put the server at night with the server plane 5 min before takeoff and rendering 3d image (-norender off) to see when the lights come on. If they turn on in the server, there I will leave the server in that state waiting 24 hours to see the result. As far as I know, I don’t know of any console or config command that leaves the lights on all the time. I don’t know if by manipulating the ramp departure time of an AI package in config, the atc stays active all the time with the aircraft that are on ramp and if the lights stay on all the time.
Greetings GUN

@VIPER-0 hi Viper. I have the same difficulties. My squadron flying a h24 KTO Campaign on the dedicated server. As i said for me is a costant. Each night i have no airporto light on on Seosan Airport. My server is in 3d on hiroshima with norender option on. My server is a VM in Cloud so i cannot turn on the render. I need to simulate on my pc a mutiplayer connection and try. Anyway in my opinion MC is not the responsable of this behavior. With the same campaign file on my pc as server the light turns on for the server. I need to try with other client connected to my pc while i am in ramp in the two scenario, render on and off and see what happen.
Cheers

server rendering 3d image (-norender off)
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control.
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi.
the lights came on on the server
the boys from the wing spent all their time flying in osan and the lights are already on even during the day and at night.
wait 12 hours and create a package in osan where our wing squadron is and the daylights come on.
the lights keep on.
the BMS server is minimized so that it does not consume CPU even when rendering (-norender off)
bms application cpu usage 4% 1.5 gbram
I can not put photos 2 days ago says
(Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later.) -
@VIPER-0 if you try the same with rendering on?

@gundam Hi Viper All,
I think a found the reason of the lights off issues in the airport.
I did two test with my PC as dedicated server using the same campaign file of my squadron server in which we observed the airport light off issue.
First test: My PC as dedicated server in ramp with C-130 on Hiroshima airport. norender off! Client connected on Seoul simulating squadron activities. Night time . results : Airport light was ON!
Second Test: My PC as dedicated server in ramp with C.130 on Hiroshima but this time with norendering ON, so no 3d on the screen. Client connected on Seoul simulating squadron activities. Night time . results : Airport light was OFF!
Outcome: the problem in my opinion is related to the norender option on the dedicated server.
Viper and BMS team what do y think?

All the tests I’m doing are rendered, that is, i can see the 3D cockpit of the server plane.
I do. request of the máster @Mav-jp who requested it and also to reach a definitive conclusion.
when I write (-norender off) it means that I have commented this parameter in the user config so that the server renders a 3d image. -

Some time ago I came to the same conclusion that you came but that is not the problem.
because even rendering it stops turning on the lights. look up in one of the reports I did and you will see how rendering 3d image airplane server off with 20 min to take off and server by day, never turned on the lights, neither day nor night, neither in osan nor in Hiroshima.
After I put the server at night, 5 minutes before takeoff and the server plane with the engines running, the lights come on, so I did yesterday and until now it continues to work perfectly. and the track lights turn on even during the day.
I even thought it was the MC but it’s not the problem either because the server is working perfectly now and I modified the campaign, changed the time to put it at night and deleted the plane package from the server.
is what I can tell you. In my signature here in the forum is the address to our discord, you can enter and there you will have the IP of the server so you can check with your own eyes.regards GUN
