SDB and jsow max range
-
…have you tried lofting one?
-
@Stevie yes I tried but still doesn’t change. Also I can’t launch SDBs beyond 25° elevation
-
@slient Wind also has effect on range.
-
@slient - that sounds reasonable, given that the weapon has to have time to pitch down onto glide path.
What speed are you using for delivery? I should think they want to be delivered high and fast…
-
@slient 50nm is about right for the SDB 1 that we have. 70+nm is the SDB2 which is not in BMS AFAIK
-
In RL if extreme lofting is possible…

SDB II is available, on F-15E, but same behavior (or very similar) to SDB I. AKAIK

@CheckPoint I wonder if it’s just the same flight model as the SDB 1

I haven’t noticed significant difference, if any.
It would need a quick check on both weapons data files…
EDIT :
Just checked.
Appart form the Weight in the SimWeaponData table, everything else is the same for both weapons, for what I found in Falcon BMS Editor.
In addition there is only a GBU-39.dat file, nothing related to GBU-53; so to me it is an additional point to think that both have the same flight model (AFAIK). -
@Stevie Max altitude (~40k feet), max speed (0.95 mach)
