Mapping Mouse Buttons To Orion
-
I’m sorry this is a non-answer, since I don’t know how to do it either. Sorry to be useless.
But I gotta say… that’s a brilliant idea. I’m sitting here smacking my forehead and saying “Why didn’t I think of that!”
I use the “push in” function on the CMS switch to recenter TrackIR, but maybe I could retrain myself to use something else, like one of the “underside” buttons on the Orion throttle. If I could, and if your idea could be made to work… hello, HOTAS mouse clicking! Every switch in the cockpit would become a lot more accessible!
Genius!

@Mylonite470 I’ve used that setup with the sim of misfit toys for the last 5 years and it’s been the best VR solution I’ve tried. Including Point Control and other hand tracking solutions.
I would think it would be an easy fix. I looked at SimAppPro but it doesn’t seem to allow for programming a couple of permanent switch functions. I would imagine someone here will figure it out soon! -
@Wicked BUMP. Has anyone come up with a solution for assigning mouse buttons to the Orion2 or FSSBR3? Thanks
-
@Wicked Yeah buy a TM Warthog. :
-
@Kavelenko I have one. Which buttons show up as left or right mouse buttons?
-
@Wicked Why would you want to map your mouse buttons to your HOTAS?
-
@Kavelenko So I can keep my hands on the stick and throttle while clicking switches/buttons in the pit by looking at them in VR.
-
@Wicked @Kavelenko this was added a few months ago, in U1

You rock!

@Wicked see also, the new cfg params to fix mouse cursor to center
set g_b3DClickableCursorFixToCenter 0 set g_b3DClickableCursorFixToCenterIfVR 1
-
@airtex2019 I don’t see those options in the key mapping screen. I’m using the alt launcher. I did find the checkbox for centering the cursor. Do I need to bind it in setup? And I’m running the latest update .2.

Do I need to add these lines to the config?
-
@Wicked I think the Alt Launcher does that for you, as you observed.
But you can add those lines to your ‘falcon bms user.cfg’ file explicitly, if you want.
Or you can map a key to
SimToggleCursorCenter
to turn that off/on while in flight, if ever necessary. -
@airtex2019 I had to manually copy in the keystrokes to my keystroke file but it worked! OUTSTANDING!!
Thank you very much for the assist.

@airtex2019 Ah, I see well that makes total sense now, my apologies I’m not a VR user. TrackIR5 user.
