IFlyBMS

Excellent work, Shung. I wish I could be of more help, but what you and Ice are doing is beyond my pay grade. Thanks a lot for your contribution.

Judy (and Shung), you can get the Excel file here. Please give it a test, I’d like to hear your thoughts.
-
Thanks Ice. Will do. Give me a couple of days.
-
Ice, I’ve followed your instructions about the Excel spreadsheet and the sound mod and made a few test.
First, the conversion of my .key file into a standard “Kolbe-style” .key file worked without a flaw.
Of course, I’ve had to modify the callbacks in BMS Setup to accomodate my configuration (HOTAS Cougar + 2 Thrustmaster MFDs + iFlyBMS), but that went OK too. The only problem remaining, well at least on my end, is that the ICP page in iFlyBMS still resets to its original state after I select it from another page (e.g. Nav charts). Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ll keep testing and let you know.

Nice to hear the Excel file is working. I’ve noticed a few issues though…. some callbacks that I use (HUD declutter, HUD color change) were not in Kolbe’s full .key file, but it was easy enough to add them.
Can you confirm that the sounds are now working in iFlyBMS? I think the gear lever did not have a sound before this but it should have a sound now, a big, strong “thunk!”
-
havent had time to test yet. will do.

Judythis is something I dont know how to change either. And its a major limitation for creating more switches panel on new pages. (my goal would be to create a whole set of panels, for each cockpit part)
for DCS A-10C i use a thing called I control DCS… it has its own app, and its own server software. the cool thing is that in I control DCS, when you depress a switch on the virtual cockpit, it actually gives a feedback to the Ipad app, and changes the switch there too ! I dont think we can ever do that in BMS…
But i would settle for iflyBMS and i touchControl, memorizing the previous switches positions when you go from a page to another… and not reseting to initial position.
-
Why not just make it side-scrolling then, Shung?
-
Indeed they work. But you need to deactivate the sounds in the Touchcontrol options, otherwise they won’t.

Exactly the same here.

that I could. but then, you have the problem of making it scroll by mistake by touching the screen not on a switch.
but thats what i am working on right now.
Still we have the problem when we open other pages, like charts,

Hi Fellows,
I decided to try iflybms and started following well writteninstructions on the pdf I downloaded from http://iflybms.blogspot.co.uk/.
Well the first step is to download touchcontrol. But the website http://www.touch-ir.com/ gives an “404 not found” error. What does that mean? İs the website down? Where else can I download touchcontrol?
Thanks -
The site works fine for me
-
Great, Shung. Thanks.
BTW, I suppose you know that iPad app for DCS A-10 (http://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html) that works according to the same principle as iFlyBMS. The difference here is that all switches positions are updated according to their real positions in the game. It might be interesting to have a look at the inside of that app to see how it was done. I would do it myself, but I don’t know how. I’ve purchased that app, though. So if you have any question, don’t hesitate to ask. -
AFAIK, that possibility is achieved due to the way DCS works, which we don’t have in Falcon.

I have some problems in changing iFlyBms calls.
I don’t want to modify my keyfile, so I’m trying to modify iFlyBMS but I’m not able to use calls with “[” and “]” keys.
I’m using an italian keyboard and I have tried with “è” and “+”, with “Alt Gr”+“è” and “Alt Gr”+“+” and also with switching to International USA Keyboard but when I go to BMS iFlyBms doesn’t send the original “[” and “]” keys.
Could someone help me? -
What callbacks are they exactly? Might be easier for you to edit your callback as the AutoHotKey page doesn’t seem to list the bracket keys.
-
Thanks for your answer.
These are the callbacks I have problems with:SimLaserArmOff -1 0 0X1A 5 0 0 1 “MISC Laser Arm Off”
SimArmMasterArm 1097 0 0X1B 5 0 0 1 “MISC Master Arm On”
SimSafeMasterArm 1097 0 0X2B 5 0 0 1 “MISC Master Arm Safe”
imRetUp -1 0 0X1B 2 0 0 1 “ICP RET Up”
SimRetDn -1 0 0X1A 2 0 0 1 “ICP RET Down”
SimCATI -1 0 0X2B 6 0 0 1 “GP CAT I”
SimParkingBrakeOn -1 0 0X1A 6 0 0 1 “GP Parking Brake On”
SimParkingBrakeOff -1 0 0X1B 6 0 0 1 “GP Parking Brake Off”As I’m building a full cockpit replica, iFlyBMS is for me a temporary solution to help me flight now that my pit isn’t complete.
I cannot easily change these callbacks as all the cards are already programmed with them.
I’m quite a noob in programming so any help is appreciated… -
I apologize as I’ve not touched this app for a long time now, so I can only suggest saving your current .key file and making a “temporary solution” .key file as well that will work with iFlyBMS. Use this new .key file then when your final pit is ready, use the old .key file. As you’re throwing switches anyway, there is no need for you to memorize what key combination a certain callback is assigned to, as long as that key combo works, right?
-
Hi Ice:
Do you have a file that just shows the ICP only?
Thx
Ferret
