@okayasugf - notice in the picture that the pylons are not oriented straight fore-aft in line with the airstream, like on a Viper or just about any other fighter out there They are canted notably outboard on a Super Hornet.
-
@okayasugf - Affirmative - yes!
Here’s a shot of some additional details on the aft end of the jet…
-
@Stevie yeah i’ve made these, tho didnt have a really close picture of them haha

If memory serves, they’re at a 12 deg. angle
-
@okayasugf - ha! That’s nearly a cut between the way they were first done and the way they are now…that one screenshot I found is about the best pic of them I’ve run across. There are also some pretty good resin replicas of them for models - I have a set of 1/32 ones for a few Super Hornet kits I have. If you can find some in a hobby store you can get a good look, if the pic is just a starter.
BTW - the little hexagonal scoops in front of them are referred to as “eyebrows”. They are generally open at lower speeds, and on deck at idle power or when taxiing. They close flush with the top of the skin.
-
@Stevie yep, ill be adding them next, and thanks for all the support, i might redo the scoops for having 5 instead of 4 outlets.
-
@drtbkj - Nope. Much less than 12…
-
@Stevie i did an 8 degree tilt, if thats good then its cool
-
@okayasugf - that’s still a bit too much…poke around the model builders forums, and I think you’ll find better suggestions.
-
@Stevie thats the most closest ive got to the built models, other than that have no textual reference for actual degrees. So im kinda eyeballing it aswell. -
@okayasugf Hello,
I said that I would not come here because of some unelegant behavior, but as I like your work, I want to help you.
I just checked my documentation about F/A-18E, and instead of blahblah, here is a detailed model of ECS pipes, with an accurate angle an angle of 15°. I just did this model for you !

By the way, this structures that I overlaid in red does not exist :
Radium
-
@okayasugf - those pylons don’t actually look too bad…
-
@Radium - the biggest flaw in this model it the “fence” around the stacks - the vents are smooth with/to the aircraft skin at the surface - see the pic I posted, below.

Yes, there is not such thing, like as just mentionned ; https://forum.falcon-bms.com/post/379693
Haven’t you seen my drawing ?
It just explains what you added
Radium

@Radium the reference i found earlier was like this so my bad i made them wrong haha, i will go and fix them
-
@Radium thank you sm for this radium, it means alot. Love the falcon community for supporting everyone
-
!
-
@Fresco fantastic references, thanks
-
@Stevie
i cant seem to find a closeup of the cap like vents, the ones with no step written on them -
@Radium Thank you to the legendary radium for providing a model of the vents, this is the stage of the model where i intend to finish up all the 3d details, then move on to retopology of the jet. I would have done the vents myself but the help is very much appreciated. Remind me to get you a drink haha
