Unsolved BMS 4.37.2 HSI pointing to VRP instead of TGT when TGT-TO-VRP enabled
-
Hello BMS team,
Detailed Description
Based on the documentation : https://falcon.blu3wolf.com/Docs/MLU_M1.pdf
page 155When VRP is mode selected and the currently selected steerpoint is the same as the TGT on the TGT-TOVRP DED page, the following occurs:
[…]
• The HUD azimuth steering line, TD box, and the HSI provide steering to the target. It looks like there is a bug, in this case the HSI points to the VRP and not to the Target.

No difference switching OSB10 TGT/RP

- launch mission TR_BMS_11_LGB (It works with any, but it’s just to give a reference)
- set VRP-TO-TGT for STPT 7 as on the first picture and enable it
- set current STPT as 7
- Set Air to ground mode / CCRP
- HSI will guide you to the VRP instead of TGT
- Switching Mode on OSB 10 to TGT or RP doesn’t change anything.
Expected Behavior
I think the HSI should point to the target. Currently, the only way to have the HSI pointing to the target is to disable VRP-TO-TGT.I’ hope my assumptions are correct, thank you for your time.

the error comes from the DED VRP page

@Mav-jp Hello, I’m not sure who I should tag here, this is quite an old post, do you think somebody could look into this? It’s still an issue.
Thank you! -

Thanks Mav, @Tumbler31 , could you please look into this when time allows? Thank you!

@Mikyjax as I wrote, there is an error with the DED menu in BMS.
the reference point shoudn’t be the VRP point but TGT point -
@suhkoi69 Yes I know, your issue is cosmetic, it’s a string in the DED. I’m not sure the implementation is directly linked to it. Those are 2 issues that need fixing, but I have no knowledge of the fact that changing VRP to TGT in the DED will fix the logic with the HSI. I let that part to the devs
-
@Mikyjax I’m talking about the logic based on the VRP reference is wrong and this is not make sense too…I can well imagine that it’s not just a question of replacing the name…this is why, HSI points to the reference point defined behind and currently, the reference point is well VRP so the behavior works as “expected”

Thanks for bringing this under the attention. Typo fixed, HSI under investigation

@Tumbler31 Good news, thanks for the feedback!
