Virtual Crew Chief With Foxvox
-
The one thing that I hated about other programs, you couldn’t broadcast your real voice and also the key commands simultaneously due to no DX. This will make it all work. Thank you so much Adam. FoxVox is better than anything out there and perfect for BMS. I have been using it for awhile now and it adds so much to the immersion, I never fly without it.

Just a quick update…I’m still working out some kinks in the program with the way all the new features play together. There’s just a lot going on now in the app and I want a smooth and reliable experience. Unfortunately testing with the crew chief slows everything way down since I’m having to run startups over and over, taking it through different phases. Not only am I trying to build the Crew chief interactions, but I’m debugging a lot of new code with it. I apologize for the delay - just letting you all know I’m working as quickly as I can and still expect the release very soon.

I have finally posted the beta VCC library for FoxVox! Along with it I have posted an updated v2.2.1 which is required. The library is in beta, but fully working. As so much is new, please be patient and let me know if you encounter any issues. I will be posting tutorial videos and more explanatory information in the upcoming days as things are now much more complex, but please feel free to adjust and adapt the library to your own style! It’s FoxVox - no scripting or coding needed to change the configuration
There is an important readme file included which states the following:
You must bind your own joystick control range to the following Key Commands:
Nose Down (Flight stick push forward/down)
Nose Up (Flight stick pull back/up)
Roll Left (Flight stick left)
Roll Right (Flight stick right)
Yaw Left (Rudder left)
Yaw Right (Rudder right)
Left Brake Movement (Toe Brakes left or brakes [if not using toe brakes] - ‘on’ position/range)
Left Brake No Movement (Toe Brakes left or brakes [if not using toe brakes] - ‘off’ position/range)
Right Brake Movement (Toe Brakes right or brakes [if not using toe brakes] - ‘on’ position/range)
Right Brake No Movement (Toe Brakes right or brakes [if not using toe brakes] - ‘off’ position/range)The MPO Switch Toggle is bound to the ‘O’ key which is the default. Unlike the VoiceAttack version, you do not need to press and hold for .5 seconds. It works mirroring the default toggle behavior in BMS. You will need to change this binding if you use another method to set the MPO switch.
You can fully run the VCC interaction without launching BMS in an automated test mode (it detects if BMS is not active). When running without BMS, the inputs BMS would normally provide are done automatically on a timer. This allows you to refine the voice detection and practice without having to start BMS.*
Enjoy!!

@foxster Please Foxster, can we have a video tutorial? That’ll be nice. Thanks in anticipation
-
@Sniper-0 Yes. I actually started it but got sidetracked. Should be able to finish this weekend. I’m working on the next big update…again.
-
@foxster Thanks alot Foxster
-
Any hints at how to get vjoy setup? I see it in windows but it isn’t detecting any buttons or inputs.
-
Waiting for it. It will be interesting
-
@zeek Once you have the vJoy buttons showing up in FoxVox, click it with Alt Launcher open to bind it to a BMS command. Then bind that button on an output in FoxVox just like you would a keypress.
There’s some more coming in the very near future which is going to make using all of this much easier.

@Sniper-0 (and everyone else whose interested) Ok, video is posted. After recording everything once, I found out my mic settings had really messed up the sound, so I had to do it all over. Hopefully it’s not that bad…all I can say is I got through it; I hope it’s helpful! I also have posted a VCC Beta v2 Library after finding and fixing up a couple small things. Working again on the next update in the meantime.

@foxster Thank You Foxster

Waiting patiently for update 3 before I get back into BMS. looks like this software will be very useful and add to the immersion. Thanks for all the hard work.

@foxster
Thanks for the software and integration of VCC! I was still trying out and just to report here that I use Foxvox with Helios and you can perfectly flip the MPO switch on your touchscreen and got a Kick response from Foxvox.
