Unsolved Babysitting the AI

I’m getting more and more frustrated with under paid job mentioned in title.
AI (wingmen) would really need some refinement , in general AA.
This is kinda 4th reload of the same mission, we get jumped with MIG-31’s , MIG-29S’s and SU-30(35)'s … and I always bite the dust saving “private Ryan”'s ass.
(we , two of us , are only left in squadron on day 4 , until next reinforcement)What I suggest, (maybe even beg for), is more control (micromanagement) of AI wingmen in the future, maybe even next patch , eh ?

“FLEX” - can we get “infinite loop” in self-defensive state (20-30nm) vs (current) one-circle and rejoin ?

New command for W/E/F - “GO TO” MY active steerpoint and f… flex there until I call you with Rejoin/Resume Mission ???

“RESUME MISSION” (Resume Briefed Flighplan) - Any idea what does it do?
I fail to see any joy with this …

he’s kinda Right … i noticed Ai wingman can not Engage multiple air targets at once I don’t know why?
by the way… i can’t wait for 4.38 update with new train and complete f-15 avionics… -

Fair enough, the AI seem to have their good days and bad in my experience. This sounds like a very reasonable request and also seems achievable (I would say as a non-coder).
I know Mav-jp is always keeping an eye on AI behaviour and I’m sure that further development will happen when time and motivation is available to the team.
In the meantime, can I make the really unhelpful suggestion that you play with a friend in MP to circumvent all of this frustration?

@Mav-jp sir, might be out of topic, but does the line followRate 60 at AI Behaviour section is about how fast AI will try to rejoin?
I change it into 40 for mine, and wingman seems using fuel more effective. I notice a bit longer for them to rejoin, but at the end fight with extra missile carry by them is better than send them home while cap time still ticking. Before, almost one time engagement is enough to sent them home while CAP time still around 20minutes. Put me effectively fight the whole motorcycle gank storming the gate .

Well, huh, yeah… you’re onto something there.
Last night I’ve decided to circle around assigned path and ingress from WNW , just about edge of our “Patriot” range. Haul-ass … picked off at least 1 MIG-31 , 1-2 MIG-29, probably 1 SU-30 or 35 .Meanwhile, wingman happily attacked (attack my tgt via HAD) SA10T with 2 harms , and mission tgt - missile batt, with jsow-a (on its own - ag wpn free).
When wild bunch approached gave him defensive on MIG-29 , but this time from better range ~30nm , so he had time to pump out , back into Pat. range … saved his ass this time.
We ran like no tomorrowCan’t say the score , mission crashed , after 15 frustrating attempts to refuel on the basket (F-18Es) at 3AM loc (cloudy night) - still “hooked” by tanker logic , pressed EXIT with 1250lbs fuel left …crash, well shit. Enough for the day.
You CAN’T see the basket in dark night , you see the hose , but basket appears too close to react in comfort fashion.
Hose is “fluorescent” on NVG , but basket is not , just too damn dark circle- I also need to play again with THROTTLE CURVE, need finer control of this
- must be careful with KC-130 speed , plane is slow, and you don’t have that much control of F-18 at low speed , reacts slower 260<300kts cas
- F18’s auto-throttle is cool stuff with AAR , even when you get more inertia with fuel load
But… back to the program… YES , of all commands, “GO TO” is a must (imho) , now if you can link it to X/Y , rather then steerpoint , even better , so if command can be tied to bull location on SOI (rad , hsd) … , … steerpoint will suffice also.
