Unsolved F16 block 40/Balkans VHF dosen't work IVC
-
Good morning, can anyone tell me why the VHF radio on block 40 in the balkans doesn’t work with ivc?..UHFworks fine.
-
As far is I know there is no difference when it comes to IVC and differnt blocks.
Make sure that you have forwarded the correct ports to the IVC server and that the clients actually join the right virtual server when connecting. IVC will “fail” silently and join the clients all into the first server (which is UHF) if there is a misconfiguration on the port forwards.
You can verify that in the IVC server cmd window.
Also make sure you switched the CNI knob from Backup to UFC.
-
@lukrop hi, the ports are correct, ivc connects well and on the UHF we can communicate perfectly, but when we try with the vhf we can’t, not even by testing in the COMM window by pressing F2 we can’t hear each other, so it’s not even a bindings problem.

@Hendry30 Have you verified on the IVC server window that the client connects to the three different virtual servers? Something along the lines
client joined channel ... on virtual server 1 client joined channel ... on virtual server 2 client joined channel ... on virtual server 3
Do the talk events appear in the IVC server window?
-
@lukrop ok, the next time we connect I’ll check this too, for the moment thanks

@lukrop yes me and my wingman are joined in all server but VHF dosen’t work.
-
@Hendry30 I don’t think it is dependent on the Block. Have you tried it in a different block?
-
Not sure either how this is possible…
Anyway… Repro case needed
-
It only happens in the Balkan theater?
-
Please make a screenshot of the IVC-server window after the clients joined and you tried UHF/VHF talking.
Additionally, please post a screenshot of your ivc-client window after connecting to the server.I hope we can spot the issue there, at least it gives us more info.
cheers

@Magic49th How do I attach a screenshot?

It’s exactly as I expected. Tucano’s client is connected to virtual server 1 only. Make sure the port forward works for all 3 IVC ports correctly. UDP: 9987, 9988, 9989
-
So the IVC-Server looks good.
Please tell us if IVC-VHF works for you and Tucano in Korea Theater. And to be more precice on the screenshot, follow those steps:
- start ivc-server
- both connect to ivc-server
- host press push-to-talk button UHF
- host press push-to-talk button VHF
- client press push-to-talk button UHF
- client press push-to-talk button VHF
- after this make a screenshot of the ivc-server window
maybe we can pinpoint at which stage the problem is.
cheers

We tried again tonight but it didn’t work… Toucan doesn’t just connect to server 1.
-
So,
i verified again, and the problem is visible in your first screenshot i guess.
Here is how it should look on the server:
In your case, Tucano should connect to Server2 for VHF, but he doesn’t.
Can you provide a screenshot of Tucano’s IVC-Client after connection, as well as his IVC Client.ini?
cheers

@Hendry30 Try creating seperate port forwards for each IVC port and don’t use the port range. It’s possible that the router firmware is doing stupid things. Probably will work after that.
-
@lukrop ok I trying.
