SweetFX for BMS
-
Hi, thanks for this, cant wait to try. This reminds me of a mod for FSX, that tweaked the bloom settings etc and worked with a .dll hook, in a similar way. Thanks again!
cheers, Mark

Can this be made with some sort of sunglass shape instead of fullscreen?
This could give me the feeling of wearing raybans! :uham: -
can you create instractions or youtube video how the fix can be applied ?
-
I found this tutorial:
But it doesn’t work for me. With SweetFX installed BMS crashes on startup. After uninstalling it works fine.
-
Will take a look anyway … Amraam is telling me we should have look to that stuff… maybe could be interesting.
Thank you Ron for heads up.

SweetFX in ROF:
SweetFX in FSX:
DCS, IL2, etc… I have not found yet .

Works fine for me. Sharper textures on F-16 look very good. Colors a too much for me but I can adjust it.
-
Well if we can adjust it to better quality without being to cartoonish would be great.
-
mine the BMS does not start …. i click the BMS launcher and i get back into the desktop…
OS Win 7 64 bit

+1 … and it seams to be possible … But Amraam reported few drawback about AA.
-
Any confirmation of it working with SoftTH?

Same for me.

Same for me.
Seems not compatible with X64 systems.
Check the log file in sweetfx. most likely is the Read only option marked in the BMs folder, Uncheck that.
Confirm also that you allow write premissions to that folder. -
I have the Same Result as Geraki and Jinro88, Some one need’s to either make a Guide or a Video Showing how to Do this the right Way. Once ppl get to use it, then they can decide to either keep this or go back to what we have.
-
Read only option is indeed checked. Log records the following:
full path: C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\bin\x86
redirecting CreateDevice
initialising shader environment
D3DXCreateEffectFromFile failed
try to use “C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data” for shader filesStill doesn’t work when “Read Only” is unchecked.
Whether my OS is 64-bit or 32-bit shouldn’t make a difference since the BMS executable is a 32-bit program.

Guys, read post number 10 again, there are instructions there.
Don’t forget to disable in game multi sampling first.
It works well with windows 7 64 bit.
Not with 64 bit executables. Yet. (DCS on 64 machines).
Important you put the files under the correct folders!
will post later, as I’m writing from my phone.
And do post screenshots…… -
I’m using the SweetFX config program that properly installs/uninstalls for you. Disabling Multisampling doesn’t work.
-
I followed the instructions carefully and - no joy! The sim won’t even start. Win XP 32 bit, Radeon HD 6570 gfx w/12.08 drivers.
-
Ok, I got it installed and working…sort of…I am using Rons sample config file, renamed of course to settings.txt. I have enabled splitscreen to see effects, and when I turn it on using scroll lock, I get an immediate 25 FPS jump from 60 to 85 FPS hurrah! …but I don’t see any colour or effects changes, or even a split screen…(turned of multisampling as instructed and also all files correctly placed…) any ideas?

Ok, my falcon wasn’t starting either so I did it this way to get it working:
First, discard that video tutorial.
Second, Update your directX directly from Microsoft website.
Third, Download the SweetFX from here
Fourth, copy d3d9.dll, dxgi.dll, dxgi.fx and injector.ini to *Falcon BMS 4.32\Bin\X89*
copy SweetFX folder, d3d9.fx, SweetFX readme.txt,SweetFX_preset.txt, sweetFX_settings.txt to Falcon BMS 4.32\DataFifth, Save to anywhere the Attached File from Ron533 SweetFX settings found on post 10 or by downloading it directly from here
Sixth, Rename it to SweetFX_settings.txt and copy and overwrite to Falcon BMS 4.32\DataSeventh (optional), I also unchecked the read only parameter from Falcon directory, made it run (Falcon executable) as administrator and gave permissions to the user “Everyone” overwrite rules.
Worked like a charm to me.
Cheers guys
