By saying tracks I am referring to the aircraft symbol on the F4RADAR, along with all it’s data and history dots.
According IFF, if the codes where available in the shared memory, would it be easier for you to bring them up?
Oh, and one more,
can we have the bullseye indication being shown continuesly close to the cursor? Many thanks!

it already is

Hi Tumbler, is there going to be an updated F4radar for U3?
-
+1 please dear Tumbler!
After every update it’s time to do our A2G proficiency before F4RADAR is updated lol.
-
- version 0.48 changes (04.11.2023)
- Updated for BMS 4.37.3
- version 0.48 changes (04.11.2023)
-
As always thx for the support continue , our VFS don’t update BMS until F4RADAR available
-
@chihirobelmo Please tell me how your Squadron normaly use it during a mission ? And what benefit does it give your Squaron? I am asking because my VFS are looking after add ones to do the missions even better, and more realistick…
-
@Killroy Some examples:
-
- version 0.49 changes (28.11.2023)
- Updated for BMS 4.37.3.2
- version 0.49 changes (28.11.2023)
-
I can’t seem to get F4Radar to work anymore.
Using BMS 4.37.3.2 on KTO and F4R v0.49, neither in 2D (with clock running and slotted in a non-airborne flight) nor in 3D (on the ground) does F4Radar show any airspace info. Bottom-left always reads “BMS Status: off”, no frequency/packages lists are displayed, no bullseye, no radar tracks. -
Dear all, the next update of BMS will see Tacview Real-time implemented. The protocol description is public and can be found here: https://www.tacview.net/documentation/realtime/en/
As such you all can implement an app that can connect to BMS, read the stream and plot the data. This can be a stand alone app or even something web based.
As F4RADAR is a bit of a pain to maintain, I’m hoping the community steps in and will create a next generation open-source GCI-tool.
I will provide an update for the next version of BMS but normally that will be the final version.

Your F4RADAR tool has been wonderful all these years. Our community in the Caribbean thanks you for all that passion and effort that you have given all these years.
a hug from far away.

I would prefer a different tool, e.g. euroscope.
This is a real tool for air traffic controllers but not perfect for fighter controllers.
TACVIEW is still missing (I asked the developer years ago, but nothing happened…)- Display of the cursor coordinates to the bullseye
- Display of the polar coordinates of the cursor relative to the hooked aircraft
- Label deconfliction (manual and automatic)
- several pairing lines between aeroplanes
These things would make the work much easier.
Just ask a real-life controller.
Prot
-
@Prot there are no limits to what the community can do and I’m sure the BMS devs could support such initiatives…
Just see if euroscope can be changed for an AWACS environment…
We obviously will refuse any payware initiatives…

Dont want to start a new topic… but due to some health problems I am actual out of the cockpit and now helping my mates with F4radar.
Works fine so far, but I have one behavior I don`t unterstand…Why is the Radar of the E-3 so weak? This flight the AWACS was 84NM away from 2 MiG-29A… but on f4radar I had still no information about their type.
Is the radar really that bad? The fighters I suppored did knwo that it was MiG-29 about 2 minutes before I knew it
Or are some settings wrong in my setup? I User Versio 0,49- -
@Kuhprah 80NM is more or less the de-aggregation of 3D units…
F4AWACS can’t influence that…
-
@Kuhprah f4radar uses the bms spotted flagging. So depending on ground and airborne stations and Mk1 eyeball. Can’t say it’s flawless, but in general is ok-ish.
@MaxWaldorf it’s not about de/agging, spotcode also works on campaign units

So if my F-16´s I am supporting are already within 30NM, have radar and visual ID of Mig 29… I should have that too I would guess?
So, actual it it what is is and not changeable, right?
