[VR] "My legs are small and my cockpit is tiny" fix
-
@Dracfalcon don’t see it in your falcon bms user.cfg or the Technical Manual/VR Guide (because it isn’t listed there, but that sometimes happens).
I honestly haven’t tried with 4.37, add it and give it a smaller number for a bigger cockpit, .75 seems to be a popular setting. -
@Snake122 Copy…so just add that line in the VR section.

Don’t use the cfg line, use SteamVR parameter. Source @I-Hawk

@LorikEolmin steamvr world scale doesnt work for me on pico 4 or Rift S. I tried many times to get it to work it just doesnt and on the Rift S you absolutely need a larger cockpit for reasonable clarity. The only way for me adjust the cockpit to size is set g_fVRIPDMultiplier 0.7
Just FYI

SteamVR is currently the way I do it. Is there any reason for not using the cfg line method?
-
@1508AD it works as long as you have added BMS to the steam Vr library. You shouldn’t need a bigger cockpit to make it readable on the rift s, but you definitely do want more resolution. I run mine at world scale 107% and resolution in the region of 2200x2200

“Enabling such scaling cause issues not only with sky now but also terrain (buildings sunk and getting out as getting close to them)”
“People that needs scaling, better do it by headset tools” -
@LorikEolmin I will continue to use SteamVR then. Thanks

Just wanted to put in my 2 cents here, while the F-16 looks generally ok, the other cockpits like the F-15 seem too big. I brought my steamVR scaling back down to 100% hoping it would fix the Eagle but it still feels off. Hopefully we get some more tweaking here as the VR and 3d models get tuned!
Still, one of the best VR flight experiences out right now, and 3d really does bring attention away from some of the more dated aspects of the graphics (looking forward to seeing them updated in U4 and 4.38!!)

@Mike-0 The F-15 cockpit IS huge compared to the Viper though. It should feel massive.
-
@SOBO-87 Yes obviously the F-15 is larger than an F-16. This is not a matter of the size of real cockpits, the scale of the cockpit does not look correct relative to the other 3d models. look at the flightstick or the Ejection seat (which btw, both aircraft uses an ACES II, so its not like one should “feel massive” compared to the other in THAT particular regard) The cockpits are not scaled properly to each other, and as a result, cannot be tweaked using SteamVR scaling without messing up the other. This will need to be fixed eventually.
