Solved Missing XINPUT1_4.dll
-
I recently updated to the latest BMS (from original 4.37) and now I’m getting a “missing XINPUT1_4.dll” error message when I try to launch BMS. The only possibly related forum post is regarding the addition of Xpad compatibility. That post would indicate the addition of “set g_bUseXInput” (default set to 1) but I don’t see that line in my falcon bms.cfg file.

Okay, adding “g_bUseXInput 0” to the cfg file didn’t help, but making a copy of xinput1_3.dll and renaming it to xinput1_4.dll did the trick.
Thank you. -
@Ribbs What os are you on ?
-
I guess it’s Win < 10. First thing you can try is to add
g_bUseXInput=0
line to BMS User config do disable XPad support.
Another one is a bit of a hack. BEWARE it may cause crashes of apps that are using XPad.
In WIndows\system32 and syswow64 dirs there should be xinput1-3.dll you may copy this file under xinput1-4.dll. -
OS is Windows 7 64bit. I’ll try adding the line to the config file and report results. Thanks for the help!

Hello gents I have been on 3.36 install and I thought I would try 3.37 now but I get this message…
Running Windows 7 64bit I don’t plan on upgrading my system as yet.
An clue why I’m getting the XINPUT1_4.dll
I usually don’t fiddle around with the install only clean setup here.

Windows 7 is no longer supported by BMS. Check hardware specifications. Minimum Windows 10.

@Reaperdog1
Unlikely, as Win7 is considered unsupported OS by now. I’m afraid there’s not much can be done about it. -
@Xeno 3.36 it is for now

Well with tricks provided above, 4.37 should run fine . Just be aware that it may affect other software. If you know what has been done and what are possible side effects, you can easily revert those changes. -
@Xeno managed to get rid of that message error now I got another one
Any suggestions?

Yes update to Windows 10. 4.37does not support Windows 7 for a reason.
