FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS

@k3yb04rd an easy but interesting test – check your motherboard manual, to see which USB ports are driven by the CPU and which are driven by the PCH/chipset.
try plugging the warthog into each, to see if one works better than the other.
(note, this may scramble the ID of your Warthog as detected by Alt Launcher … so it may require duplicating your
Setup.v100.Joystick - HOTAS Warthog {.....}.xml
file accordingly) -
@airtex2019 I will try that when I get time to do the whole mapping thing.
But I want to know why would that be issue with FoxVox in the first place? I don’t have problem with Hotas Throttle zoom unles FV is started. Instantly I close FV the zoom fix itself, without exiting BMS 3D. -
-
@pes_ter Thanks for the heads-up! I think I’ve got a solution pending, or at least in progress. I’ll post information about an update very soon.
-
@foxster thank you for your work!
-
@k3yb04rd A new update has been posted. Give it a try and see if it fixes your issue. Anyone else who has experienced performance issues should definitely check out this new version…actually everyone using it should update for better performance.
Special thanks to @jojojung for his help in testing and providing feedback, and also @Wheelchock as always for ensuring everything else stayed working. As always, let me know if you find any bugs or issues and I’ll do my best to fix it.

@foxster WinDefender flags the MSI; surely a false positive so just a headsup.
-
@dumba Thanks for letting me know. I’ve recompiled and updated the exe with new signatures so hopefully it gets through. I’ve seen that happen once before where Windows just decides it’s bad…not really sure what trips it, but hopefully it’s fixed now.
Edit: Well apparently that didn’t fix it. Windows just doesn’t like my update apparently. I’ve provided the msi inside a zip file as a workaround for anyone being blocked until the problem can be resolved.

I’ve posted a video showing basic startup of FoxVox for new users to get up and running with voice control:
-
@foxster Nope, it didn’t work for me. Same result, when FV is on, on zoom still flickers. When close FV it fixes itself and everything works fine.
Could it be something with AMD graphic drivers?
On old pc I was on Intel and Nvidia, on new one I’m on AMD totally. -
@k3yb04rd I really hoped this release would fix it for you as others had even more severe symptoms which it fixed, and they were on AMD hardware as well. The graphics driver certainly could be a culprit. I’ve seen WPF (what FV uses for its display) have strange problems and behavior with certain graphics drivers - typically older outdated ones. It’s speculative at best, but make sure your driver is up to date. I have a couple of questions for you to try and learn more:
- Do you experience any delays, hangups, or lag with FV itself while operating it?
- Is the flickering immediate or does it seem to build up after a while?
- Do any other analog switches cause the stuttering in BMS other than the zoom, such as moving the radar cursor?
- If you minimize FV to the system tray when running it, does it still flicker in BMS?
- Do you have the zoom mapped only in BMS (not anywhere in FV)?
Perhaps something will help clue me in on what might be going on. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this, but so far others with AMD and using TM Warthog are reporting that everything is working fine.
Edit: Someone else has reported the same issue using the same throttle. Working on it…

Hello,
Is there a way to use the new Windows Voice recognition System ?
I think is was called voice acces. I tryed to train the Windows Voice recognition for the 8 time no and it still dont understands me or like in 1 of 10 times.
I try the new System and it understand my words in 10 out of 10 times. -
@Nightflyer Are you referring to the newer Microsoft Speech Platform? I’m aware of it but haven’t implemented it yet, although I’m certain I could. I’ve been busy with BMS integration and key input but I’ve wanted to add this to the project. I’ll look into it further.
-
@foxster
That sounds awsome. I really love youre Software and Profil. And iam eager to use it. But i cant get it to work probally with the old speech Engine.
And with the Speech plattform it reallz works flawless. So iam looking really forward to it.
Thanks for all youre work. -
@foxster said in FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS:
- Do you experience any delays, hangups, or lag with FV itself while operating it?
Nope, FV works perfectly (more then perfectly). It’s a top software. I’ve even installed last version without prior libraries inside. (They are located in windows/documents/FoxVox library. But not loaded inside last version, only default library is in FV when started)
- Is the flickering immediate or does it seem to build up after a while?
flickering is instant in appearing as it is in dissapearing. If I start BMS without FV and try my zoom lever it works perfectly smooth, and if I then start FV zoom will flicker. But I may not emphasize it enough it only flicker from middle position and in full zoom, also a bit from middle toward full zoom out. In full zoom out it does not flicker at all. Middle position on a lever on A-10 Warthog throttle is default hard made detent (it’s small phisical detent where lever stops if you don’t pull it hard towar the full zoom.
Summary with FV started:- in full zoom out - don’t flicker
- in middle zoom - don’t flicker
- in full zoom in - flicker
- from middle to full zoom starts to flicker from zero toward more flicker
- between full zoom out and middle zoom (detent) a slight flicker
- Do any other analog switches cause the stuttering in BMS other than the zoom, such as moving the radar cursor?
No, radar cursor button works smooth with or without FV active
- If you minimize FV to the system tray when running it, does it still flicker in BMS?
Minimizing FV has no effect in this situation. I’ve tried starting FV first then BMS, and vice versa but with no luck. Result remains always the same
- Do you have the zoom mapped only in BMS (not anywhere in FV)?
No. Only in Alternative Laucher.
I would suggest if needed to connect to some voice channel and I can live stream it for you. If something is not clear or understandable for you in my writen words.
Thank you for trying to fix this for me. I love FV and it would be shame I have to switch to some other VR because of it. I’m keeping fingers crossed (in a good way) -
@k3yb04rd this is a very weird bug … I’d love to understand what’s causing it.
Is there any movement visible for that axis in Alt Launcher? (while FV is running)
-
@k3yb04rd Thanks for replying to those questions. I’m working with one other person on this, but I’d like to bring you into the testing with access to some trial builds. Do you have a Discord account where you could join into the FoxVox discord server?
FoxVox Discord: https://discord.gg/vc37eJ4Bsp
If not, I’ll PM you with the info.

@Croa Yes, I was able to fix. Glad it’s working for you
