@drtbkj
Thanks. I am flying in VR. Will check again tonight. Not certain if I can use the “lean back” trick in VR.R/,

Update: My HUD doesn’t look anything like yours. Here’s my F-18E HUD, latest OMFKTO and UU installed, in VR:R/

TC2Hi, Compadre. That is very strange, my HUD never looked like that. Let us check into that. Do you have the new Hornet avionics enabled or disabled? The picture I sent was with them disabled.
I notice the mach and G values are there. We have not had them in typeac 9 (F-18C/D )since the new Hornet avs came out, even when disabled. Have you altered your dat file? I just updated the dats in the Mafia Files. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1bygx0jp35co0/F-18C. If you want to try these, they’re what I’m currently using. -
@drtbkj
Joe,
Haven’t altered the .dat files except other than to input the correct basket/probe locations for AAR. The link you sent is for the F-18C. I am flying Superhornets (the one in my picture is an F-18E).@drtbkj said in BMSOFM Universal Updater Project-Updates and Log:

I don’t know. How would I check that?
I will try flying a F-18C to see if the HUD is different or the same as yours. If it’s the same, then the E/F must have a different HUD callout than the C. I will let you know. Appreciate the response.

TC2Hi, there. Check your pms for the dats and arts…
Meanwhile,if you have pasted
set g_bEnableWIPF18Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPF4Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPTornadoAvionics 0 in .cfg reverts to the old method
to your BMS.cfg then they are off. -
Ah,ha! It seemed logical to test with the Hornet av’s turned on. Look what I found…

Is that with Hornet avionics set ON or OFF in the .cfgs?

@Tomcattwo The last picture was with them on. The earlier picture was with them off. You have to paste the lines to bms.cfg, they weren’t there, stock

@drtbkj
Joe, adding the settings you provided into my BMS User.cfg worked! The old HUD really helped (though for my taste it could be a tad more brighter green - yes my HUD brightness was maxxed). Guess I should put my visor downGreatly appreciate the help to get this fixed!

TC2T, I’m glad we got you fixed up. Have you tried HUD color (alt+h) ?I just tested it and the callback still works. I used to use that a lot. These days, however, the visor does the trick for me. I have mine set to V, I think stock is control+V( or at least it used to)
-
@drtbkj It is Alt v om my keyboard.
-
@Killroy . Thanks.

@drtbkj thanks! perhaps I will test it myself and see if it works. If it does, I will join your discord and let you know my findings. Yes, symbolic links could massively reduce storage needs by using only a reference to a single copy of a file, instead of a copy for each theater folder. I use it in development scenarios and would love to share my results after i get my install all sorted!
