Falcon Web Remote v1.0

What’s the difference between this app and TouchDown?
Well, I should answer that just to make it clear.
It’s not an OS specific app, all you need is a device (notebook, iphone, android phone, tablet, toaster whatever ) with ethernet connectivity to your pc (wired or wireless) and a browser. Nothing else, nothing is installed on your device. The buttons are on a webpage so if you have some basic html knowledge, you can use it as any panel you’d like. See my first post for more details.
-
TouchDown does the same thing, although it has the flexibility to use more than one web page for the interface. Can this do that as well? I may try porting my multi-panel F-16 cockpit to it if it can handle it.
-
Well, I’m not an expert and since I don’t own Touchdown I may be wrong here but, as far as I understand, you need to purchase Touchdown and then install it on your device in order to use it (with the appropriate PC program). Here you only have one program running on your PC and since your device already has a browser, you only need to fire it up and connect to your PC. Moreover, you can have all the pages you want as long as you edit the html files for your needs.
Anyway, this isn’t a competition, it’s free so you can try it and see if it suits your needs :). As I said before, I made it for my iPhone so my objectives were fulfilled :).

I installed your program but haven’t tried it yet in-game, but as far as I can tell, it does the same thing. Touchdown is free, and just runs on the host, and also uses a mini-web server to serve pages to any device to emulate keystrokes.
My first attempt with it was to emulate the MFDs on my iPad, before i bought an actual set of Thrustmaster MFDs.

Upgraded to v1.1.0. See http://sakgiok.gr for download info.
If you upgrade you need to uninstall the previous version before installing the new one.

Hi Monster,
I have installed your program And just tested it for a short time.
Runs well with ICP ansd it is my first request.
It seems to have an inversion for me between MFD.But very simple to configure and use (with iphone 5)
Thanks for your job.Wingedsky " Windblow"

Hello Monster, only a question.
Is posible to use this program to send keystrokes between two Pc´s but using the keyboard?
My problem is I have a RS hardware that only can use in W32 (no W64 driver) and I want to use that buttons as MFD´s and ICP.
I´m looking for the way to send the keystrokes generated by this hardware across the lan, to Falcon Pc (w64). And that is my question….is possible, pushing this buttons, to send the keystrokes generated to the BMS Pc?
And is possible to use with DCS too?
Thanks in advance and best regards…:)

Hi Skorp,
In theory you could achieve what you ask by editing the web pages served by the program to accept hotkeys and behave like pushing the buttons with keystrokes. This would require some javascript in the html code of the web page but it’s possible. On the other hand, it would be easy enough for me to make a client that doesn’t display a web page but just sends the appropriate commands when you press a key. I’ll give it a look and let you know.
For the second question, it should work with any program that has the focus at the moment the command arrives. The only problem is that it is specialized for Falcon so it loads only its config file and you don’t have the ability to change the keystrokes.
-
Wooow….that´s fantastic.
You are my hero, Monster.
Thank you very much…thank you.

It took a while as time is an issue for me right now, but I think I made the little client program I promised above.
Go to http://sakgiok.gr and look for Falcon Web Remote Client. This is just a client that you can run on a second pc, instead a web browser, with the ability to capture keypresses.

Monster…
¡¡¡THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
Tomorrow I´ll use your programs and told you the result, but in advance…
¡¡¡THANKS AGAIN!!!

Is there a way to choose Port for the Server?
I allready have an IIS running so i became error message.
-
In the latest version (1.1.0) you can set the port in the Options.
-
Ok then this error is a different one.
I installed the Version 1.1.0 and startet the exe file.
The Error Message i get is: Runtime Error 10013 “The requested adress is a broadcast adress, but flag is not set”.
The log file is empty.Oh, Win7 64 Bit and im logged in as Administrator and also tried to start the exe as Administrator.
-
Any software firewalls that might be interfering?
-
No, the Windows Firewall is deactivated, jut the hardware firewall from the router is active.
But that should cause this error. -
Well, this is just a generic message that means that probably, the port is being used by another program. I’m guessing, you still use the default port 80, since you cannot start the program to change it, right?
Did you stop IIS (or change its port) temporarily to see if the program starts, so you can change the port it listens to?
-
You are right, that works!
Well i would suggest you give the user an option to change settings if the port is in use
Also if u are in options menu and you choose an port allready in use the programm closes.
Just an suggestion, the programm works now i will test it this evening. Thanks!

I get run time error 10048: address in use.
Any ideas?
