I think server is down. I can’t connect either.

rebooted. Thanks guys.

Server down. Would it be possible btw, to have routinely restarted say every 5 days ? Recently at day 15 and LONG past any point. Also perhaps a more hard to win campaign ? Cheers

I can’t connect either,

Yeah same here, server is down

Rebooted and will try to honor requests. Thanks guys.

Might just be a problem at my end but pie does not complete instead goes to debrief which says mission still in progress even though no sign of the flight on the map. Tried both the 120th self created package and 157th ready made flights. If someone else reports same thing ? or otherwise perhaps just issue for me. Cheers
A few hrs have passed and done nothing not even a reboot. problem has gone though. Strange.

I think it is the coolest thing to have a good multiplayer server with a persistent war going on - what I do on, say, Monday, affects the war, the same war I log into on Friday. Very cool! Wish I could play more often, but I can always count on this server being up and running, and also fast fixes and replies if there are problems. I’ve made tons of friends in so many different countries, and helped many new players who flew for years offline, never knowing that there were multiplayer servers like this! BMS blows every previous Falcon build out of the water! Keep up the good work, and Thanks!

Thanks BLuD for posting this site

Hello all,
I am new to BMS although I played Allied Force and Open Falcon in the past but only single player. I am happy to say I was able to connect to VG server in BMS but there is one thing that isn’t clear to me. IVC. Any video’s or tutorials you can recommend on how to connect to a server and the practical use of IVC? I don’t understand the relationship between IVC and teamspeak. BMS manual says something about F1, F2 and F3 keys for UHF, VHF and Guard respectively. Are these push to talk buttons in game? What about the UHF-VHF button on the HOTAS Cougar throttle?
On VG site: “IVC Push to Talk while in 2D Map: F1 or F2 buttons, IVC Push to Talk once in Pit: Alt-1 or Alt- 2” Isn’t it impratical to use these keyboard buttons while flying if you want to talk and can they not be assigned to your UHF/VHF HOTAS button?
Thanks and keep up the great work and the wonderful sim!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
From what I understood, IVC is using an api/library of teamspeak, so it uses principally the same protocol/technology.
Frequencies are principally channels, and you are sitting in three channels (UHF, VHF and Guard) at the same time.If you start the IVC client, you see those three channels.
Once in 3D mode (sitting in the cockpit), it will switch your channel again. The game allows you to enter a specific range of frequencies (UHF and VHF) per ICP or the backup module.
The frequencies used in 2D mode are higher, so you can’t reach people who are in 2D mode once you’re in a pit, but they can go at your frequency talking to you (and you to them).Regarding the Keys:
I guess, as long as IVC doesn’t find the gameengine running, it needs to have the predefined Keys so you can continue communicating, but IVC doesn’t have a configuration file so I guess this is set in the binary.
Once the gameengine started, it can interact with IVC.
I for my part set the Joystick buttons as UHF and VHF PTT. Have you looked through all entries in the control configuration?
Note also, there are different Sets of settings you can choose as standart from.I hope I was able to help, but don’t take my words as the truth, might be total boolsheet

Thank you for your input SnowSky but I’m afraid it’s still chinese to me
You use UHF and VHF PTT. I am using Dunc_DX.key together with my HOTAS Cougar. Took me a while to get all buttons and axis work as they should but I figured it out thanks to another post in this forum that I read. So where do I go from here to have IVC buttons? Do I understand this right that when I’m not yet in the game I can talk with F1 and F2, and then once in the game in 3D pit I would use ALT 1 and ALT 2 to talk? Or can I also press HOTAS VHF Down or HOTAS UHF Down to talk?
It’s all very confusing
Sorry for being a noob chicken mac nugget but I guess there’s a first time for everyone:p

I am using the BMS.key I think.
I watched in the file, there I have the following lines:
more at the beginning of the file
SimTransmitCom1 -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “HOTAS-UHF”
SimTransmitCom2 -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “HOTAS-VHF”more at the end of the file
SimTransmitCom2 19 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimTransmitCom1 20 -1 -2 0 0x0 0You might want to make a backup of your Dunc_DX.key
and insert the lines above if they don’t exist yours. Then start the game and check if you can find them perhaps now.You would use ALT 1/ALT 2 once youre in the 3D pit, thats right!
If you needed to insert my lines, it might be possible that it is no more ALT 1 / ALT 2, but Joystick Btn 2 and 3.if this works, I guess you won’t be so confused anymore.
Problems are always confusing :). I’m at the beginning too, you never stop learning -

Hammer it’s all been said already, but simply put, just use F1 or F2 keys when in the 2d map to talk to others. Once in game, use Alt 1 or Alt 2, but u need to set the frequencies too. Are you still having issues?
