BMS Key File Help
-
oh well, as long as you use some key that is unassigned, you should be fine.
-
Ronald, as long as U4 is installed properly you should have my files in the folder mentioned above.
In this version of my key files is an issue with the F1 / F2 keys. It is already adressed in my next update.
Problem is, that BMS uses always the second key occuring in the file. My key file uses both keys twice. For ICP and as a reference to the IVC function in UI (the keys are set to SimDoNothing here).
The IVC stuff appears after the ICP stuff in the file hence BMS skips the ICP functions and “thinks” F1 & F2 is set to SimDoNothing. Hope you get what I mean.To solve this just delete the both IVC lines which are set to keys F1 & F2 and ICP should work properly again.

Hi,
since the release of U5 there is also an update of my keyfile work available. New version is 1.6.
Just take a look at Users / Joystick / Generic / Kolbe
It would be nice if someone would volunteer to help me with the Dx stuff for the Warthog.
If someone is interested, please drop me a pn. Thanks. -
so if we have 1.5 working properly, there is no need to redo for 1.6? its just fixing the COM issue?

Yes.
All I have done on the key files is listed in the changelog.
So, if you have fixed this issues yourself and you are fine with it, there is no need to use the newer files. -
hi kolbe
tanks for your great job.
in the DX generator file i dont found the DX Id of coolie switch in the trhottle of the TM wartogh. Why? -
Because BMS supports only up to 4 POV hats of the primary device. And this is the stick.
You have to assign the POV (and the Cursor btw) on the throttle via TARGET. Unfortunately…
Be adviced that the Warthog sheet is still WIP. -
tanks for the reply…
exist other way for interly programming the warthog only via DX? -
You can fully program your Warthog with DX, except the both hats on the front side of the right Throttle (I think one is the POV and the other one is designated as cursor? Can be wrong here). All you need to do is to program those with TARGET.
-
What is the keystroke for firing the gun? I do not see it listed anywhere.
-
See Flight Stick section, second trigger detent

Please remind me again how to correctly install this keyfile… do I need a certain profile for the HOTAS Cougar to use together with Kolbe’s excellent keyfile? I’ve recently re-installed BMS after a system upgrade and would love to take up regular flying again.
Thanks, Uwe

Hi Uwe,
there is no need to “install” the key file. Just copy the file of your choice to your user/cofig folder an choose it in BMS setup.
I remember helping you with the Dx stuff a while back. Just take a look at the dx-generator.xls. It helps you setting up the
Dx code lines. Just follow the instructions.Regards
Kolbe

Thanks for all your hard work, Kolbe, I’ll give it a go and make sure to follow the instructions to the letter. No head tracking involved this time so I don’t expect more “major” problems
All the best, Uwe

Does anybody know where the key is in Kolbe’s Stock Keyfile for what was called in the original keyfiles: Wpn- Cycle A-A/Cycle A-G in the original keyfile?
I need that to complete my mapping but i cant find it -
I’m using SimNextAAWeapon and SimNextAGWeapon.
-
Ah that would be it, but I already fixed it just using the default BMS keyfile, I couldn’t find the UHF and VHF keys at first thats why I thought I had to use Kolbe’s.
Turns out there just called HOTAS-UHF and HOTAS-VHF…… doh :fart:
Still if you have a HOTAS with a LOT of buttons, I could imagine Kolbe’s keyfiles would be helpful, good job Kolbe! -

such callbacks are not present in my key files at the moment.
But most likely it will change in my next update. -
