i have the same problem but the solution you posted not works for me.
i have an idea, i think the problem is the images default
for example:
<topleftcorner>{Helios}/Images/Panels/panel-top-left.png</topleftcorner>
if i create a new project, i haven’t this image
can the Helios.dll be the problem? I installed HeliosSetup-Stable-1.2.176
regards
I am having the same problem. Helios would “stop working”. I am running windows 8 by the way. Appreciate it if anyone can throw me some ideas how to get this work.

Appreciate some info regarding your PC. And what you’ve done to “fix” it. Like I said before, it may be a corrupt install of Helios. Or from a corrupt installer.
Try making your own profile with just a switch and button or whatever, see if that will run alongside the sim. If it doesn’t, then I would definitely say something is wrong with Helios itself.

Update:
I was able to run scooternutz’s profile without any problem. Not sure why your profile didn’t work. Maybe the files got corrupted–downloaded the files twice already. Will play around more to see if it will work. Thanks. -
Dont know if this will help anyone, but I had this problem when I first tried to open Ices profile.
I found that deleting the entry for EOSBus (Direct Serial) using the profile explorer allowed me to then start profile OKJust a thought

Thank you so much. This fixed my problem.

Hi -Ice
Can you tell me if you have managed to script the autopilot switch to stay in sync now that the new update as been released for Helios.
I can manage to sync it to either Pitch ALT HOLD or to Pitch ATT HOLD but not to both at once.I think we need a little tweak to the LUA script because it is a three position switch not just two as in the handbrake!!!

Yea, I confirm that this solved the problem also for me.

Regards weepopGot it (almost) working.
Use the following LUA-code for the right AP-switch:
if (TriggerValue == false) then return 2; end
The “almost” is referred to the situation when you are currently out of the parameters to engage the AP, but you engage it anyway: The switch then changes nevertheless to position 1 or 3.

Hi ICE,
Wow, compliments for your virtual pit! Looks fantastic!!!
As a newbie flightsimmer I have my own very little (compaired to yours…) W.I.P. project and that’s the iViper for iPAD that was posted here on the forum.
I came across this great thread with all your (even better) looking graphics. I wonder if I can use your MFD, ICP, RWR and DED graphics in my own setup. I’m using the TouchControl app for iOS i.c.m. the TouchControlServer in my Windows 8 PROx64 bootcamp setup. Great application to start with the “build your own virtual pit!” Before posting and asking questions while WIP I think it’s common sense to ask your permission first!
Hope you’ll agree for me to use your graphics. That would be awesome!Cheers and have a great TweakEnd! :drink:

Hi Ice,
Completed my iViper ‘project’ and now moving on to Helios!
Love your panel profile. Thanks for sharing!
[EDIT] going thru all related posts and -Ice’s video’s I managed to get back ‘in the air’!
[but it keeps crashing on me in Helios 1.3.190 stable version. What are the before-open-profile requirements / settings for Helios? It seems there is an issue with monitor config. Before opening your profile I set my config to my own 4 monitor setup of with one is a virtual one. I set my TS to monitor 3.
Hope you can help me out with this!
Replies appreciated.] -
Sorry for the late reply, busy RL.
The graphics for the MFD, ICP, RWR and DED are not my own but rather from MFDE or BMS extraction. I had an old project as well using TouchControl and it was called iFlyBMS. However, I’ve since gone back to Helios and purchased a touchscreen. I have a 2nd profile set up that is a bit better laid out but is not ready for the public yet… and at this rate, might not be for a good while. PM me if you want to try it out, but for now, my first profile is a bit more “complete.”
As for crashing, I’ve been told of problems with my profile and 1.3. Try getting 1.2 version of Helios and it should run okay with that. I suspect this is simply an incompatible version issue.
Hope that helps!

Hi -Ice,
No problem, I understand. Thanks very much for reading and your time to reply!
After re-installing Helios 1.3.190 and some newbie trial-and-error, your profile is working fine now. Had some trouble configuring MFD Extractor V0.5.7.0, but after installing and using it in Windows 7 compt-mode it works oke now. Really excited about using this.
Have a lot of learning an practicing to do, so for now I’ll stick to this profile. I surely hope to be able to try/download your finished new version of your profile in the near future.
Cheers.

I just tried the new version of Helios and my profile, both worked with no problems and BMS was fine. So if anyone is having problems using my profile with the newest version of Helios, try downloading a fresh copy of my profile.
Thanks!

Hello weepop!
I’ve not realized I could drag the MFDE gauges around by touch, always used the mouse, lol! Tried this out and it did move, but as I’ve never had this “problem” before, I don’t have a “fix” for this. However, I wonder why you are swiping over your MFDE outputs? Perhaps a different design layout would be better? As you can see in my profile, my switches are “separated” by putting them on a “panel background.”
As for the chart output, someone in the Helios forums did make a suggestion, kinda like a “script” that closes down all open images before opening the one you selected, but I’ve not tried it out yet…. so technically should be possible I guess but not 100% sure.
Hey Ice,
If I wanted to view the different departure charts or approach charts, then how would i do that using your profile. All I can get to come up is the initial airport diagram. I think that your profile is great and that would be my only question because as I stated I can pull up the diagrams of the airports but nothing else. Any suggestions

First, I want to thank Ice for providing the Helios profile that enabled me to enjoy Helios with my new touchscreen monitor. I am on to the next stage of learning Helios by trying to figure out how to add airport charts, frequencies, etc for theaters other than Korea. If anyone knows how Ice did this in his profile for Korea, I would appreciate an explanation of “how to” so that I can do it for Israel, Balkans and the like.

I have been using your HELIOS profile for several weeks and want to thank you for such an excellent profile. I have watched your video tutorials and still cannot understand how you cause a button to display a hidden panel when the hidden panel is NOT one of the panels that appear on the left side of the Helios editor. For example, how did you get the CHART button to display a series of AIRFIELD buttons and then have a particular airfield show up when the button with its particular name is pressed…a button within a button within a button.
Thanks -
does this work for android?
Could I run the MFD`s on my android (nexus 7) and have the TGP,FCR etc etc all so show along with the OSB buttons
