RELEASE: Blk40/42 HUD Mod
-
Aha. But does this come with the pilot model? I saw someone else post that they would like the manual install to come without the pilot….as would I.
-
The last link on the front page is the manual install pack. and lod 3 and cockpit hud are the only ones you need for everything to work minus the pilot body. Thats how I have it set up now
-
So just cockpitmodel3.lod and cockpithudmodel.lod, plus the .dat files? I’ve heard that the .lods are not MP critical, is it the same for .dat files?
-
yup those are the only files you need. and none are MP critical
-
Nice, thanks.
-
soo where do i put the .lod files???
-
-
whoop!! whoop!! nice job on this one … i get a pilot with legs and the kneeboards that work…
-
Ok…what did I do wrong this time? I don’t recall this happening the last time I installed the HUD.
-
I dont remember what the name of the number is. i think its the number in the 3000’s. Any who you need to make sure you go back into LOD editor and update them one by one otherwise you get that. Its happened to me before
-
I just remembered, I think it might have something to do with the lines in the .dat file. I didn’t change those–the tutorials I follow never mention that part.
EDIT Scratch that. I think the problem is that I installed the 40/42 HUD in the POH theater, which has a separate obj folder but uses the KTO cockpit art .dat folders. I think there’s a mismatch between the numbers in the 40/42 cockpit art files in KTO and the numbers in the LODs in POH.

well done sir

Something isn’t making sense here. I have everything installed correctly but I am still missing: VVI, AOA, SAI, Altimeter numbers, HSI numbers, throttle, AUX TACAN numbers.
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 1;
cockpitmodel2 2;
cockpitmodel3 3120;
cockpithudmodel 3121;
cockpitcanopymodel 3123;
cockpitrttcanopymodel 6;
cockpitwingsmodel 3109;
cockpitwingsdfmodel 3109;
cockpitmodel_empty 3118;
cockpitcanopymodel_empty 3119;I replaced the LODs accordingly and it should be correct, but it isn’t working.

I have a very strange issue now….the Block 40 HUD works perfectly fine in every TE, and every campaign squadron except the 36th at Osan in Rolling Fire. I still have the standard cockpit/HUD. This is with an unmodified campaign file, only mods are JanHas LVN v2, weapons, and Osan AB mod. I previously had no problems with these a month ago, and now all of a sudden the Block 40 HUD won’t work with (and only with) this squadron in this campaign. Has anyone experienced the same or have any ideas as to what would cause one particular Block 40 to not work while all the others (at Kunsan, for example) do?
-
Is it possible to install that Block 40 HUD on the Block 50 ? i would like to do so because of the new Janhas 3d model for the Block 50+, they do use the Block 4o HUD.

If you have it on the Block 40 you can put it on any aircraft so long as you have the correct LOD numbers. Just find the Whatever block you want to change in the ckpitart and ckpitartn folder and replace the LOD (to use) as you did the 40
-
thanks mate
-
Is there someone who can explain the procedures to manually install the CG cockpit ?

It’s been a long time since I did it so I don’t recall what the Parent Number for the Block 40/42 cockpit is, but I followed this guide:
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?16037-How-to-Section
If you don’t want the pilot legs don’t install ‘cockpitmodel2.lod’.
