[ANN] opentrack 2.0 beta 1 released!
-
To install it, can I just overwrite everything in my current opentrack directory?
-
After installing OpenCV, Qt5 development libraries and so on, do:
$ mkdir build
$ cd build
$ cmake …Alternatively, you can run later:
$ cmake-gui .
or:
$ ccmake .
in the build directory, to configure compile-time options, build type and the like.
To install it, can I just overwrite everything in my current opentrack directory?
At least keep your existing config intact, to avoid a nasty surprise.

Is it compatibe with win7-64 bit?
Can you please post install guide for windows?Thanks!

As far as I know from a friend that uses it… works on win7 64. And as I seen it work in action via screenshare I have to say it works like a trackir… The friend used a Playstation camera and did a mod on it… removed a filter or something… and it works super fine… I’m sure that guys that have done it will chime in and give u more details. We asked our friend Stargazer to record and upload a vid and some basic info about the cam and the experience… let’s hope he will…

Thanks Arty! Currently i’m using facetracknoIR with point track method and using PS3EYE (removed the IR filter and i’ve put piece of an old floppy disk) and it’s works really well.
It seems that the Accela filter of opentrack is better so i’de like to try it and see the results. I’n the link above there is an exe file only for 32bit. I’m using Win7 64-bit… If you say it works well- i’ll give it a try.thanks anyway

64-bit Windows retains 32-bit compat, of course. It’s windows on windows :
We have no plans at the moment to release 64-bit Windows binaries, due to limited resources and time. You can of course make your own binaries for favorite arch/os combination

Next build will further reduce PT jitter, due to hysteresis support contributed by Ulf Schreiber

hello,
can someone help me i have Opentrack 2.0b2 and choose as maintracker aruco and mainfilter accella mk4 and protocol freetrack, but when i click go i see my face but no trackerpoints or something like that.
i want to play falcon bms.
please someone give me advice how to fix that. -
aruco is an AR marker tracker.

Otherwise, one can use a face tracker (not recommended) or PT (freetrack-like), which will get hysteresis support in 2.0b3!

hey sthalik,
thanks for the quick reply.
i guess i stay with opentrack 1.8 alpha for now since it works the best for me.
ht 1.0 crashes when i use it as my main tracker.
my question is what maintracker i need to use if want faceapi like tracking (through webcam without any leds on the head) -
HT 1.0 is the best bet. FaceAPI was a real hassle to maintain due to stuff with MSVCRT, etc. It was gathering bitrot and barely anyone used it.
Are you willing to test some HT binaries?
-
if you by test mean using it ingame then sure.
tell me where i can download it and for what i should be looking for and I’ll see where i can help
i have a logitech c510 webcam btw -
If it crashes before displaying any frames, it means it’s “over-optimized”, i.e. doesn’t support your CPU.
But it should support Pentium 4 and above if compiler’s to be trusted.
Please keep in mind that it’s pretty resource-hungry, to avoid breakage on fast movement and nose scratching.
Try this build:
http://ananke.laggy.pk/dump/tracker-ht-20131215.tar.xz
Does it crash? If so, how?
MSVC2013 can be used to make a fast build too, but there are problems with XP support
-
sthalik thanks,
when i copy the folder into the opentrack 2.0b2 folder and choose the ht 1.0 as maintracker it crashes unfortunately with APPCRASh headtracker-ftnoir.exe.
I have windows 7 btw -
Launch headtracker-ftnoir.exe manually after it crashes without pressing ‘ok’, is there any stderr output?
-
nope. it always crashes even the headtracker-ftnoir.exe.
-
How about this one?
http://ananke.laggy.pk/dump/tracker-ht-20131215_2.tar.xz
If it works, will become part of 2.0b3.
-
Good news,
the last one you posted works now
thank you!Hz:29-30
Error: 3-8
keypoints: 200-320edit: its rather jittery in bms but i guess i have to find settings that work for me. maybe the frames of my tracking webcam (30) don’t correlate with ingame fps (60).
-
Ist there any date for the next beta?
-
Now seeing interest, how about today?
Update opentrack-2.0b3: http://ts3.cosaofficial.pl/opentrack/
Please report any issues

No problems so far, OpenTrack works much better for me than FaceTrackNoIR. I have been able to set my camera to 60 fps, and even on my laptop, it is beyond acceptable (for free, this is amazing).
