KC-10A tanker for BMS
-
very nice work , in addition if possible please make the side and tail night lines to be viewable during night.
-
Really nice model Tom, but I have to agree with Arty, the wearing on the paint is too strong compared to the photos of the real tanker…
-
good pic, i like it.
but i dont like the verticle lines on fuselage so much. they make the fuselage looks like sausage, u know, slit into dish. maybe add some horizon lines to balance the feeling? -
Very impressive work, Tomcatz!
Many thx for sharing the pics and plz present us with that beauty whenever you’re ready! (right now with be just fine :D)
-
Tom u know I love your work… and this is one is good too but don’t u think that the wearing on the paint is a bit strong? Maybe less opacity on those areas? so to blend better and more physical?
I have mentioned this regarding on his older models and skins. This skin looks 100% unnatural.
-
Well- very funny. The skin is based on a original picture out of dessert storm if I renember right. At the end of the day it is very easy to change or modify the skin. Somebody could do that in future…
Cheers

I like it !!!
Good job
-
Show us that picture. BTW a skin shall be model a general state of an AC an not a very unique. I have never seen any RL AC such a state.
-
I already saw some pretty dirty KC-10s indeed. But I’m with molni, this weathering seems a bit too much.
Nice model anyway -
Not only too much, but the pattern looks ver evenly distributed, that is why it looks very unnatural.
-
4 lods? Tell me yes
-
Here’s one what needs a wash:

And a couple with some light ‘weather striations’, but not so pronounced as Tom’s:

@Tom:
Well,
I dont know if somebody still working on a Project like this so … ups.
Hi Tom,
In this thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?7220-Modelling-Organisation it says that BMS is developing a KC-10.
Interesting work regardless. -
Regardless of who is making a new KC10 (thanx Tom), I think we all agree it desperately needs a good update.
-
Weathered like that? I`ll rework that Skins soon…

Yes- 4LODs later. Cheers
Tom -
The “banding” or “segmented” appearance with major fuselage sections (about 14 of them) seem too strong.
-
can you imagine a pit for that heavy?

Weathered like that?
Yes, the are strongly are, but the distribution is very uneven. In your skin the distribution is 100% even. Of corse it is your choice what you select as a base, but If you check average pictures what you posted is not a general look of an AC, they are very rarely looked so worn-out.
