How to get a DDS / texture to a LOD?
-
Hi,
my questioning goes further.
I really know nothing about textures for an 3D object. So I took a barn (CT 893) clicked “Normal” then “1”, then “Edit LOD”, then double click on that node in the tree. I had created a texture list with one DDS (from a house) and put into the textures. Now the textures box “says” 8038 (I copied the house texture into 8038). But I cannot see that texture (how so ever ugly it would look).The barn itsself has no DDS texture(s)…

Red Dog he doesn’t just want to find the dds.
IIRC LodEditor has a serious issue with dds numbers above 8xxx
u must import the texture to make it work if it doesn’t show up.
How?
get the parent and use the same number and not -1 in adding a new model. -1 creates a new record in the 3d database.
if you enter the existing number is like updating the thing. when you reach the part of the texture name your texture as you wish for example 9999.dds and select it.u see parents on the right side as u open LE. when you select a model from the left side it shows you each parent.
but you will need and the lod numbers. so click normal and get the lod numbers (LOD#) from the next window on the right side.Also from utilities menu.
Now get back like u just opened LE.
Select Utilities->Model/Texture Setup…
follow the steps. -

Earlybitedid you texture-map it first?

That’s because the last tex id in KoreaObj.tex is lower than the one you are trying to use. BMS does not make use of.tex anymore but legacy tools still do.
