Pilot model fo F-16

Anyone?
What do you mean Mower? You installed the pilot in that pit and the DDS are not showing? Or just the kneeboard for that jet in ITO?
-
If ever there was a proof for the interest in immersion in any sim it is the 53k+ views on this thread simply dealing with a pilot model. Love it!

I installed the pilot/kneeboard in the IT but it only appears in the Block 52 jets. I am assuming a different DDS is needed to be modded for the Block 30i.

Gotcha. It’s a different cockpit model you need to install it into for it to work in other jets. You can find which one by opening the 3dckpit.dat file in your ART folder for F-16 you are installing into. For example, in the instructions on page 1 it talks about entering in a “1” next to “Normal” to install. If you open the block 52 you will see that 1 is referenced for “cockpitmodel” (in red below):
Block 52
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 1;
cockpitmodel2 2;
cockpitmodel3 3;
cockpithudmodel 4;
cockpitcanopymodel 5;
cockpitrttcanopymodel 6;
cockpitwingsmodel 3111;
cockpitwingsdfmodel 3111;
cockpitmodel_empty 3118;
cockpitcanopymodel_empty 3119;For the Block 30I if you open the ckptart file you see you need to use this one:
F-16-30I
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 3144;
cockpitmodel2 3145;
cockpitmodel3 3143;
cockpithudmodel 4;
cockpitcanopymodel 5;
cockpitrttcanopymodel 6;
cockpitwingsmodel 3120;
cockpitwingsdfmodel 3120;
cockpitmodel_empty 3118;
cockpitcanopymodel_empty 3119;So same instructions, but just use 3144 instead of 1:
Installation guide:
1. !!!Create a backup of files (not folders) in:
<dir>\Falcon BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects!!!
2. Put 8018.dds and 8019.dds files in<dir>\BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj
3. Open LOD Editor
4. Click on ‘normal’, then ‘1’ under “Edit” (use 3144 instead of 1)
8. Click on ‘Select LOD’
9. Select LOD no. 82
10. Select Action>Append/replace texture
11. Select 8018.dds and 8019.dds
12. Click on ‘Action’>replace model
13. Choose ‘loaded.lod’ from the archive.
14. When the LE changes appearence you can close it down.
15. Enjoy your new body!For how to use “only legs” - follow same guide on page 1 but use 3145 instead of “2”.</dir>
</dir>

Thanks for the info Demo.
(1) Should I not be pointing LE to the KoreaObj file for the theater itself?
Or should all of these edits with LE be pointed at the default KoreaObj @
<dir>\BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj ?
(2) Is this number 82 still correct in this case?
1. !!!Create a backup of files (not folders) in:<dir>\Falcon BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects!!!
2. Put 8018.dds and 8019.dds files in<dir>\BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj
3. Open LOD Editor
4. Click on ‘normal’, then ‘1’ under “Edit” (use 3144 instead of 1)

10. Select Action>Append/replace texture
11. Select 8018.dds and 8019.dds
12. Click on ‘Action’>replace model
13. Choose ‘loaded.lod’ from the archive.
14. When the LE changes appearence you can close it down.

Demo
I have trouble understanding the following:
" For example, in the instructions on page 1 it talks about entering in a “1” next to “Normal” to install. If you open the block 52 you will see that #2 is referenced for cockpitmodel1:Block 52
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 1;"You refer to #2 in the above but the list 1 is next to cockpitmodel. Sorry if I am lost.
-
Dunno what the issue is, I tried the instructions to the letter and some variations as well, works fine for Korea but no go for the Sinai for block 30i.
-
I have the legs only mod working in the Block 50/52 for Korea and have also successfully got the kneeboard to use the WDP instead of the airport info. However, I cannot get the Block 40 for Korea to work. Any suggestions?
I would like to get the legs only mod to work in Balkans and Israel, but have no idea how to do it or when I get the mod to work, what should I put in the kneepads. I assume you just use the WDP 2 page JPEG for these theaters when I can get it to work.

You need to replace the other lod, try looking at lod 7318 to see if that’s the cockpit without legs/pilot (see my previous instructions for some hints as how to do that)
-
That’s correct bn, the lod number in the readme file has 82 (was for previous BMS versions).
-
Is the download link dead?
-
it worked for me last night.
LE actually getting it to work, not so much. throwing out the node windows, even after repairing ,net framework.

Did you replace LOD #82 by mistake? The readme in BMS Pilot Model.7z refers to an old LOD number.
To find which LOD to replace in your install look at the cockpit Parent #2 , for my u3 install it is LOD# 7318.
thinking this has something to do with it, will fix tonight
-
Works flawlessly with default Korean Theater, not at all with other jets in other other theaters.
-
mine ended up being the 7318 one. worked like a charm and is indeed awesome. stock korea
-
Does this work with theaters other than default Korea?
-
as far as i can tell, yes. just follow instructions with that theaters object file, if im not mistaken. keep the old model and give it a try
-
Nothing happens when I try to open the download…The open box just keeps blinking to another open box.??
-
Is there a source image with the polys so I can try my own texture?
EDIT NEvermind found it lol - went to LOD editor, opened pilot.LOD and saw Tex Map button, then Export Map
